Creamy yellow with a thin frothy white head.
Really funky, musty, cashew dust and barnyard quality on the nose, with wood, cheese, lemon, and herbs like mint or menthol, and some drainage ditch.
Taste is less crazy and really nicely balanced, starting off with lemon, pear, a whole grain, wheaty pizza crust malt, and a faint hint of herbs, mint and ginger, with aged cheddar emerging as it warms.
Soft, wet but finishing semi-dry.
I had this from a bottle in August 2017, and as opposed to the draft, I found it to be much brighter, more herbal and citrusy, with more lemon and mint and fewer of the musty funk notes. My number rating has been updated to reflect a more enjoyable experience with the additional time in the bottle most drinkers of this would find themselves with.
