375ml bottle poured into a goblet
A- pours deep amber in color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that has great retention
S- roasted pumpkin and caramel up front, along with creme brûlée, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, maple syrup, pecans, oaky vanilla & bourbon
T- sweet and malty up front with notes of caramel, vanilla cream, brown sugar and maple. Mid-palate brings out some spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg & allspice. The finish brings out plenty of bourbon barrel that adds a hint of vanilla as well as a vegetal gourd note. Lingers of cinnamon and barrel
M- medium body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a warming finish
O- nice barrel character compliments the base beer, good pumpkin flavor throughout

I'm a sucker for all things barrel aged so I couldn't help myself when I found this late this spring.
A: Poured into a snifter to a deep reddish hue topped with a finger of dense light tan head that fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Smells of pumpkins and pumpkin pie spice with notes of cinnamon and allspice along with some bourbon barrel goodness with some caramel and vanilla. This has a great nose.
T: Taste is roasted pumpkins with cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, and caramel with some hints of oak. Slight whipped cream flavor as well along with a slight sensation on the palate of cool whip. Swallow is more pumpkins, cinnamon, and allspice with some other spices. Nice bourbon barrel notes toward the back end as some oak, caramel and vanilla lingers.
M: This beer is fairly full in body with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Carbonation is soft but adequate and the beer has a drying finish from the ABV.
O: Overall this one is right on the money. Like a pumpkin pie with some nice bourbon additions as well as some other flavors to dial up the complexity. Well crafted and well worth a try if you're into barrel aged beers.

12.7 Fl Oz bottle
Served in a Jackie O's snifter
2015
This beer pours a copperish brown color with some deep amber highlights. It is murky and topped with an inch of tan head that disappears quickly.
The smell is bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and mellow pumpkin spices.
The bourbon character shines as usual in a Jackie O's barrel aged offering. The pumpkin spices have faded after a year in my cellar.
Full mouthfeel. It is viscous and smooth.
This is a fine example of a bourbon barrel aged pumpkin beer. I think the extra year in my cellar enhanced the flavor experience.

Dark copper with a large beige foamy head--the body gets much darker and cloudier with a full pour, becoming a more brown mahogany.
Smell is bourbon, pickle juice, caramel, and light pumpkin spices of cinnamon and allspice. Peppery oak and even wine barrel sort of explodes. Just tons of oak, but weird.
This tastes really funky. Oak aged prune juice. Heavily oaked balsamic vinegar. Pumpkin and spices are really distant. There's some heat burn, but all in all it's a weird stingy tang. It's just too pruney, with a bitter, almost sour rose vinegar element.

2015 thanks to rudzud
Little creamy fluffy head fades at a fair pace, dark murky brown pond water color, decent lacing, long legs.
Nose loads of bourbon, tons of sweet candy bourbon and vanilla barrel, plenty of caramel, molasses toffee candy, little cookie dough, little fig or weird fruity vegetal maybe gourd, baking spices.
Taste brings sweet candy, toffee, caramel, molasses, little vegetal fruity gourd and fig fruit, mild pumpkin like, mild spicy hop, a touch of booze warmth and ester, baking spices and mild holiday spices but very light. Some bourbon, less then the nose, toasted vanilla oak, sweet candy bourbon, decent vanilla. Finish sticky sweet candy but drier, bit more bitterness from spicy hop and spices, little more bourbon candy.
Mouth is med to fuller bod, little booze warmth, decent carb.
Overall pretty good, good bourbon barrel, good mild spices and gourd pumpkin and fig fruit etc.

Shared with JLindros. 2015 vintage.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice lightly hazy copper hue with a thin head that fades to leave light wisps.
S - Aromas of a random sweet vegative thing going on. Light bourbon barrel, faint spice notes.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, creamy vanilla, light vegative pumpkin flesh notes. Nice barrel notes, sweet bourbon. Very light spice notes. Alcohol somewhat present.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, but bit thin, alcohol hidden nicely.
O - Overall this was a rather solid pumpkin beer. The spice notes were a bit aggressive on the nose, but, overall this was a solid beer.

Pumpkin beers are hit or miss with me, but this is a nice blend of vanilla, oak, and some nice traditional pumpkin spice flavors. Tons of caramely bourbon here. A bit too boozy on the nose, but luckily doesn't come through so aggressively with the taste.
