Tap. Poured a dark reddish brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, coffee, vanilla and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet chocolate malt vanilla flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

On nitro, this is clear amber-copper with a thick, creamy white blanket that persists for the duration, unlike some given this treatment.
Smell is coffee, golden biscuit, light roast malt and lemon custard--oddly (but enticingly) enough.
Taste is really coffee forward but lightly roasted, with that lemon coming back in. Sweet chocolate intercedes, to an almost candy degree, but then a slight bitterness of baker's cocoa and root of romaine pops up.
With the nitro head the feel starts thick, but fades to a thin body and a dry finish.

On tap at Jackie O's
Pours a clear golden color with a foamy white head. Smells of coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla cream. Tastes of sweet vanilla and espresso up front, followed by cocoa and chocolate, sweet vanilla finish. Medium body and carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish. Very good

Look: Pours a dense golden yellow in color, with of course a thick, foamy head topping it off.
Smell: Sweet malts, vanilla, iced coffee, a little chocolate.
Taste: Vanilla bean, coffee, butterscotch (and NOT in the diacetyl type of way), iced coffee, lightly toasted malts. It is sweet, but not overly sugary or anything. A flat-out amazing tasting beer. Hands-down my favorite from my recent trip to Jackie O's, and by far the best tasting blonde stout I have ever had.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, velvety texture while still holding on to a big, chewy body. Absolutely perfect.
Overall: I feel Jackie O's nailed this one spot-on. It's a very unique beer, and was such the treat to get it on nitro. I would never pass this up shall I ever see it again.

Jackie O's White Apparition December 17, 2015 in a taster.
Look - Thin ring of a tester head. Blotchy lacing. Clear, lighter brown. Head is white, medium bubbled.
Smell - Coffee. Nut. Light chocolate but mainly old man, skunky ale.
Taste - Alcohol is there. Light coffee. Old ale.
Feel - Carbonated enough. Juicy. Doesn't burn.
Overall - I expect an albino stout and get a ale with coffee. Not too big of a difference. Not terrible.

Enjoyed from the growler via the little lady's son and his little lady---Thanks Jerry and Sidney!
Poured into a snifter, this unique ale pours a luminous reddish brown with a very nice head of dissipating foam that settles to a thin ring with little lacing. Nose of heavy handed fresh brewed coffee, dark bakers chocolate, subtle vanilla, char, and sweet honey. Flavors follow the nose with exceptional dark roasted coffee notes that are strong and rich with moderate amounts of honey malts crashing into dark bakers chocolate notes and a mild vanilla note. Flavors fade into the back with roasted malts, char, and a sweet dry finish. Full mouth feel, light carbonation, and warming through and through. The best of this style I have had to date.
THIS is a brewer that deserves so much more recognition....and a medal or two.
Cheers!

Pours a hazy Amber color. Aroma is a roasted cup of black coffee. Flavor is coffee up front, with a subtle sweetness of vanilla that leaves a smooth mouthfeel and finish. Overall this is unique and delicious.

I think Jackie O's did the best they could with what I see as a somewhat gimmicky style. With that said I'll take the real stout over the imperial amber loaded with adjuncts any day.

First thing that came to mind "This is like Breckenridge Vanilla Porter on steroids". Even though that's a vanilla and a porter versus this stout with it's cooked in baker's dark chocolates taste they both have expanded my tastes for the dark beers.
