2020 bottling 12% ABV

I had this sans nuts awhile back and loved it. This tastes similar for the most part. Very sweet and sticky throughout. Caramel and honey plus a huge barrel presence. The come on at the end, roasty and we'll incorporated. Not an improvement over the original, but a solid lateral move for sure.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2020 vintage, 12% ABV. Served in a Jackie O's snifter, the beer pours a mahogany brown color with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like vanilla, bourbon, honey, brown sugar, caramel and some nuttiness. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak, raisin and grainy flavors. Definitely a sweeter tasting brew! Mouthfeel/body is full, it's syrupy and a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good Wheatwine, wouldn't mind picking up some more of these!

Wood Ya Honey nut variant is a darker than usual wheat wine. It is sweet, molasses and amber honey. There are random bursts of nut flavor (mostly walnuts).

12.7 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a Jackie O's snifter
2016

This beer pours a mahogany color with rust colored highlights. It does not achieve much head.

The aroma is caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.

The flavor is caramel with a healthy dose of booze. I get a little vanilla.

Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel

I really enjoy wheatwines. This might be one of the best that I have tried. It is desserty, but the alcohol cuts the sweetness to let you know that it is a strong beer. It really hits the spot after working 8 hours outside on a cold winter day.

A- body is a gnarly cloudy brown color. Pours with a minimal bubbly head.

S- Nose is pretty complex and very sweet. Honey, nuts, bourbon, oak, bread. It's all in there.

T- Flavor is also wonderfully complex. Sweet sticky honey, nuts, and booze with a big bready backbone. Finish is sweet and boozy.

M- low to medium carbonation and a syrupy body...a hint of alcohol astringency but very smooth.

D- Jackie Os knocks it out of the park again. Wow. Fantastic beer from a style not used often.
