Third favorite from Jackie O's. Very similar to BCBS. This one poured thick and dark with a quick dissipating one finger head. I get a touch of the walnut on the nose along with soy sauce and bourbon. Taste follows with less walnut distinguishable. Overall a very repeatable sipper!

12.7 FL Oz bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black without any head.

It has a nutty, earthy aroma. Caramel and vanilla are present. Finally, chocolate and coffee round out the smell.

I get a nutty flavor first along with chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. I get some coffee in the finish.

Full bodied with a sticky, viscous mouthfeel

I think I was more excited that Quaff Bros. was involved than Jackie O's. But putting to juggernauts together could only result in barrel aged goodness. It is not the best Quaff Bros. collaboration, but is of high quality as I would expect.

The bourbon is very strong in this one! Great beer though. From the pour with the thick head to the thick and smooth mouth feel. It’s hits you but boy is it good!

Acquired from Swettenham_Shire so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12.7oz bottle into a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a very deep dark brown color with a thin beige head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains chocolate, coffee, bourbon, nuts, molasses, dark fruit, roasted malts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of bourbon, chocolate, coffee and dark fruit. Then a hearty roasted malt character comes in along with some background flavors of nuts and smoke. There is an alcohol burn that sneaks in at times. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium-to-heavy body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, slightly filling, very strong kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid big stout to drink for a long time.

Delicious! Love, love, love Jackie O! Rich walnut & brown sugar nose. Tons of bourbon & vanilla on the tounge. Super velvety mouthfeel. Definitely can tell it spent some time in KY bourbon barrels! !

Look: Solid black with 0 head after a hard pour.
Smell: Mostly vanilla and there is a hint of caramel to it. At the end of the nose it gives me a big kick of bourbon.
Taste: Tastes more chocolatey then vanilla regarding the smell and other then that the rest of the taste matches the smell with the bourbon and caramel.
Feeling: Goes down with some fire regarding the alcohol content. Definitely a drink that will be very enjoyable as it goes down.
Overall: I am very thankful that I was able to get this beer that was brewed once and I feel silly for opening it before I looked to read that. After that initial shock, this is a very enjoyable beer for anyone that is able to appreciate the feeling of some harder liquor in your mouth.

Aroma is rich and fudgy, with big caramel and vanilla bourbon notes.

Flavor is similar, very decadent, with big boozy notes, even after six months of rest.

Shiny black with a soft, half finger of dark tan head that dies to a frothy ring.

Smell is very nutty, wet, charred, heavy and dense oak with almond paste, thick gooey chocolate and raisin.

Taste is woody, nutty chocolate, salted caramel, red and black licorice, finishing with a rich molasses swallow, burnt brown sugar and some oaky boozy heat--thankfully less hot than some of their other brews.

Full Allotment is surprisingly fizzy and tangy, but still full bodied and rich, finishing semi-dry but slick.

Thanks for splitting this Steve!!

Pours out pitch black with a deep, dark khaki head.

Aroma starts with vanilla and chocolate, some bourbon, a hint of nutty notes, caramel and some oak too. Smells great!

Taste is very chocolate forward, fudge, brownie, vanilla notes, bourbon, roasted malts, some nuttiness, bit of oak on the finish and hints of coffee too. Very complex.

Full-medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel and soooo smooth!

Another awesome BA beer from Jackie O's!!

Pitch black pour with minimal head. Great legs, a lot of dark brown oil falls with a simple swirl.

I smell straight chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon but in a candy like nose. It's so a candy!

Chocolate, fudge, oak, vanilla, caramel, french vanilla, with maybe some citrus notes where some hops exist but way way way back there.

The beer has carbonation but lacks the body of a stout of this flavor profile. It's still great but this isn't going for it.

Love this beer but as this style is my favorite this one is just a very good beer not great.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice oily black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave nice wisps.

S - Aromas of nice lighter nuts, faint coffee. The barrel is very pleasant. Good chocolate, faint alcohol.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Very nice nuttiness, the base beers are very nicely blended, good light coffee. The bourbon is very pleasant.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, smooth, creamy.

O - Overall this was a really nice stout. Yet another great stout from Jackie O's.

Decent fizzy creamy dark head fades semi quickly, little lacing long legs, pitch black color

Nose roasted coffee malts, tons of nutty chewy like candied walnut brown sugar, dark thick choc coffee, dark choc fudge, vanilla barrel and nougat, little bourbon, nice caramel.

Tastes more thick fudgey cocoa, candy, big caramel and nougat, little cookie dough, roasted coffee and malt, thick fudgey cocoa, dark choc, little vanilla ice cream barrel, decent bourbon, cocoa dust, coffee caramel fudge with candied brown sugar walnuts, coffee syrup. Finish little syrupy, more choc and fudge, caramel, little bourbon barrel etc, little bitter spicy hop.

Mouth is thicker little syrupy, Very little booze

Overall quite nice,

Look: Black in color with khaki colored head on top. Looks slightly thinner than I expected it to, but still has a great visible body to it.

Smell: Loaded with aromas of dark, sweet malts, caramel, charred oak and bourbon. Some raisins or figs begin to come through in the nose as the beer warms.

Taste: Rich, roasted malts with some alcohol warmth. Slight vanilla notes creeping around in the background, but never quite substantiating into relevance.

Feel: Medium bodied for the style, nice carbonation. Good depth and body.

Thanks to mcj6986 for this 375ML bottle, which hid in my lunch box in the fridge at the place I worked today so I could have it semi-cold. Doubtless the best beer that’s ever been in the Hormel lunchroom.

First I have to go buy a bottle opener since I forgot mine, & the nice guy next door just gives me one. It works. The beer is black, very frothy. Smells like chocolate, booze, & wood. They should make a perfume out of that. I wouldn’t buy it, but I’d end up in jail on licking charges.

Full Allotment gets a 4.75 for the name & the label. The most prominent thing here is the mouthfeel, which is soft, feathery, creamy, so light it almost seems to evaporate on the palate…which an 11.9% beer should never do. Tastes like nuts & bourbon, with the nuts strong enough to trigger an allergy through these thin Holiday Inn walls. Count Chocula, vanilla, belly-warming booze. Filling, but I’m willing to be filled up by this monster.

Sexy. The mouthfeel on this is a triumpth, & the bourbon is aggressive without destroying the base beer. An excellent beer in the recent tradition of Jackie O’s.

375 bottle into a Taku at room temperature

L: Pours an opaque inky black with a think beige head
A: Big bourbon, oak, malty sweetness - lures you in!
T: A bit of a let down given the nose - similar to the smell but the walnuts are doing something odd for me, still excellent but doesn't live up to the hype of the smell
F: Full bodied, a bit hot
O: Terrific!

375mL bottle into a snifter
no bottling dates

Thanks to pearlstreetbrewingco for sending this one over in a trade!

A: An aggressive pour yields a jet black liquid with only the slightest browning on the edges. A small ten heads builds and dissipates almost immediately. Leaves essentially no lacing. 4.25

S: Aroma is huge, and it is amazing. Super sweet, in a good way, coupled with big roasty characters and a significant nutty character from the walnuts. Bourbon notes are also huge, with great charred oak and bourbony vanilla characters. Slight booze to round it all out. Its smell like a less roasty BCBS. Amazing aroma. 4.75

T: Taste is fantastic as well, although not quite to the extent of the aroma. Its roasty up front, with a balancing sweetness. Lots of nutty characters, you can very much distinguish the distinct flavor of walnuts which is nice. Bourbon notes are huge, with big charred oak and bourbony booze. Along those lines, its quite boozy. Theres a scotch like peat characters as well. Not as sweet as the nose implied. Well balanced and complex with huge barrel notes, can’t go wrong with that trifecta. 4.5

M/D: Mouthfeel is fuller side of medium bodied but actually a touch thin for all this beer brings, carbonation is appropriately low, drinkability is good, ABV is noticeable but not badly. 4

O: This is an absolutely fantastic beer. Well done Jackie O’s! 4.5

375 into a perfect stout glass

looks great! almost completely dark

smells delicious! bourbon upfront, nice toasty stout and vanilla sweetness. fudgy chocolate. As it warms it picks up some smokiness

waves of flavor, lots of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and a big alch finish, it's a zinger. As it warms the booze gets more intense

medium heavy feel and lots of booziness. as it warms it's even boozier

overall this is fantastic, one of the tastiest Jackie os tondate, if you can get past the booze. a little bit of time for the booze to die down and this is a grandslam

thanks Kevin!

Poured into a Wicked Weed snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a fully opaque black color with a 1/2 inch light brown head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a large center patch of sheer surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a broken ring behind.

S- Quite bourbon forward and the walnuts are surprisingly very much in the forefront as well.

T- Great bourbon character with lots of vanilla and caramel combining with the oak and nuts to create a balanced flavor profile. A little heat on the back end plus a drying finish. Lots of wood grain quality in this beer which, once again, goes very well with the walnuts.

M- Thick and creamy to the point of being almost luscious. Medium-low carbonation and a full body.

O- Another super tasty BBA beer from the folks at Jackie O's who know their way around some barrels. This is actually one of my favorites so far. From its smoothness to its intensity of flavor, you should probably get the full allotment of this one.

375ml bottle from a great friend who made the trek to the Athens, Ohio brewery last week.

Dark brown/black opaque elixir poured into JO's snifter. Thin mocha rim, islands of foam and legs all around.

THIS: dark fruits, vanilla, caramel, wonderful barrel, oak, bourbon, earth and nuts. Everything desired in a BA RIS.

The bourbon and barrel create a nice canvas for the dark fruits (plum, raisin), bitter chocolate, vanilla and roasted malts.

Full body, nicely carbonated, with a thick, smooth mouthfeel.

Winner! Everything I want in a BA RIS and more. Well done Brad!

375 ml bottle, 2016 vintage. Served in a Jackie O's snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, wood, bittersweet chocolate, caramel and nuts. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some burnt/charred malt and molasses noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy, coating and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a pretty good stout, definitely worth picking up some if you come across a bottle. Another great Jackie O's brew here! $11.99 a bottle.

Taste as it smells, with the addition of a nutty taste, with a very nice viscosity and silky smooth coating of the mouth.

On the nose is big dark chocolate, sweet vanilla, a hint of coffee and something the way of sweet hazlenut cookies, just a spectacular nose, very satisfying. Taste follows the nose, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee with hints of sugar hazelnut cookies.

Overall a tremendous beer, very well done!
