A careful pour yields a pale golden cloud of beer topped with a finger of fluffy head. Effervescent. Wheat, lemon, crabapple, pinot grigio, and modest barrel oak. Very refreshing, with a dry finish.

500mL bottle poured into a tulip
A: Hazy light orange with a thin head that disappears in a flash
S: Sour apple, lemon, a hint of pineapple, wheat, Brett, yeast, white wine
T: Matches the nose, the apple is a bit Jolly Rancher like. Less emphasis on the funk, mostly fruity
M: Light-bodied, tart/crisp, refreshing
O: A tasty ale and pleasant example of the grisette style

Poured from 0.5-liter bottle into a Zwanze 2018 goblet. Pale greyish-yellow color, with a couple of fingers of white head that left some nice lacing as it settled. Lovely aromas and flavors of lemon, tart apple, and brett funk. There was an unmistakable note of minerality as well, much as you might find in a Chardonnay or a Sauvignon Blanc. The subtle hop character begins to come through as the beer reaches cellar temperature. Very refreshing, with an exquisitely dry finish. With its low ABV and easy drinkability, this would make a fine table beer. Very well done!

S - Nose is grain sourness, a bit of lemon, definite grass and lactic, yogurt and a bit of wildness.

T - Punchy lemon flavor, lovely yogurt and a tart clean finish.

M - Sharp open, lush bright hit, prickly acidity.

O - Very nice job, delicious and pleasant.

500 ml bottle poured into a teku glass. Pours s bright and hazy golden color with an inch or so of white head. When said head falls, it leaves tons of lacing. You can pick up grassy funk, lemons, and rustic grain in the nose. Taste follows, with a grainy character, and then moving to a slight funky, musky note, and then a bright lemony finish, slightly tart, but not super sour. Light and quaffable in body with a dry finish making you want more and more. My first time trying anything from this brewery and it’s absolutely perfect. Everything you want a grisette to be, and then some.

16.9 ounce bottle, 2017 vintage. Served in a teku, the beer pours a somewhat hazy pale gold color with about an inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like hay, lemon, lime, funk, green apples, grassiness, peppery spice and white grapes/wine. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some peach, grainy malt, and pineapple flavors that are noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's well carbonated and pretty easy to drink. I liked this brew a lot, certainly worth picking up if you come across some! $11.99 a bottle.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2017 vintage bottling. Slight gusher upon opening. Pours slightly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, vanilla, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine barrels, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, vanilla, white vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness and yeast/oak tannin spice on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, white bread, vanilla, light funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine barrels, and pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from tart/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy, grainy, acidic, tangy, and tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a fantastic wild saison! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine barrels, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the balanced tart/tannic/spicy finish. Absolutely wonderful Brett and saison yeast complexity. Perfect balance of fruit, barnyard funk, and spice. Great wine barrel presence and malt backbone. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example.

Straw gold body with a moderate puffy head. Lively effervescence; dancing bubbles long after the pour.

Aroma of toasted grains, wheat, green apple, lemon and grape must. Chardonnay beneath it all.

Taste is green apple, grape skins, lemongrass, wheat, light grassiness. Slightly metallic ting.

Clean, crisp and dry. Wine tannins on the palate. Great flavor for the ABV.

Mildly hazy gold with a large foamy white head that settles with spotty lace and a fuzzy collar.

Smell is a little astringent of weeds and grass, but that melds into soft funk with citric but light acidity.

Taste is spicy and peppery yet buttery and delicate oak, like that of a white wine, with aged hops. A slight sting of bitter sour tingles the tongue before mellowing to a grassy, corn, pilsener-like finish. I'm surprised to say, as the label suggests, that pineapple does come out a little, but only as it warms.

Scrip has a moderate, lightly frothy body with a semi-dry, crisply refreshing finish.

Very impressive for such a light .abv beer. Pours a hazy gold color with a big bubbly white head. Good head retention and some incomplete bands of lacing on the tulip glass. Aroma and flavor feature some lemon, a big blast of yeast and a tart/sour astringency. Very strong and nice aroma and flavor. What is missing for a saison is that barnyard/funk/grassy aspect, but the yeast and sourness more than make up for it. Mouthfeel is impressive. The yeast and tartness and sourness are a pleasure on the palate. I could drink this all day!!!!!! First beer from this brewery. I can't wait to try the two other, more powerful Saisons I bought.

Poured a cloudy yellow body w/ fizzy head thanks to good carbonation. Mostly a funky aroma with hints of yeast and oak. Smooth body, touches of fruit, sweetness is balanced with an oak-like smoothness and a funky sweetness. Finishes crisp with slight acidic notes.

A very nice light yellowish haze color with a no head and some lacing. A very pleasant lemongrass scent. The taste follows the smell, decent carbonation, and a very well balanced character. A light sour taste makes it a very drinkable and very enjoyable beer. I truly enjoyed drinking this beer, very well done and probably one of the better Grisette style beers I have drank.
