Burnt orange with a short khaki head that fizzles out quickly.
Wow, that first sip hits all kinds of profiles--it might just hit every nook and cranny of the palate--every flavor type all at once. Sour, pungent, funky, spicy, umami and more.
I'm getting reduced grapefruit, blood orange and sticky apricot pairing with peppery oak and toasted sesame cracker. But so much more, it's hard to describe, but very unique.
The prickly medium body is very dry, exhaling a touch of aged cheese. The flavor seems more sour than it actually feels, and its bone dryness is unreal.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2018 vintage bottling. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, leather, musty funk, wet wood, peppercorns, black tea, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light oaken vanilla, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, spices, white wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, leather, musty funk, wet wood, peppercorns, black tea, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light oaken vanilla, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness, wine tang, and peppery yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, leather, musty funk, wet wood, peppercorns, black tea, wheat, cracker, white bread, light vanilla/vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, spices, white wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness, and tangy wine balance; with no puckering, astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/spiciness and wine tang/tannins. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, acidic/sticky/tangy/tannic, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an awesome wild spiced saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast, spices, white wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish, not overly lactic. A lot more classic barnyard funk than was expected. Awesomely well developed Brett/bacteria complexity with balanced spices; great wine barrel presence/integration, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

375 mL bottle. Hazy pale yellow. Smells of peppercorn, grain, and some wine. Tastes tart right up front. Acidic and strong white wine up front. Tea behind it that adds a tinge of bitterness. Soft malt flavor with a sharp oaky back end. Soft carbonation. Medium body. Nice mix of flavors, but a little intense at points.
