Aroma is sweet raspberries, earthy malts and mild chocolate. The flavor is raspberries, chocolate/dark chocolate, earthy/dark malts and a mildly sweet/acidic finish.

delightful raspberry taste - could have used more malt to give it a more porter taste

i've been to this brewery and they make a lot of great beers

Canned 2/17/20; drank 8/2/20 @ the Yarchives.

Black/brown appearance.

A violent pour yielded a huge, noisy tan head; a thick curtain of lace.

Raspberry syrup, booze heat, mild black licorice & faint marshmallow notes in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Raspberry syrup, fresh earth & mild marshmallow flavors; mild booze heat emerged as this warmed.

A bit boozy & a bit artificial tasting; this is OK, but far from revelatory.

Hell Bettie is one of the lighter options that I have tried from Jackie O's. The porter has bitter cacao and tart raspberry skins. Vanilla comes through on the finish. Love the colors on the can.

Purchased at Eric's grocery in North Canton Ohio. Canned on 2-17-2020. Today is 5-02-2020. I was hoping for a great quality beer and high expectations were in effect given its from Jackie O's. I dislike sweet beers, so I crossed my fingers the raspberry was balanced and subtle, and that's what you'll get here.

Note that this is not artificial raspberry, but it's puree raspberry CONDITIONED on vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. The alcohol is between warm and hot, and mouthfeel is medium, so you'll feel the 8.5% abv, but the taste is exceptional! Jackie O's represented the derby teams well and provided a great beer to their customers in honor of the teams.

I would reccomend this beer as you won't go wrong IF you like balanced beers, and Not overly sweet, pucker your lips beers. I picked it up off the shelf, wrapped a damp paper towel around it and stored it in the freezer for 45min. Perfect temp of slightly chilled. Warmer it got, better it was.

12 ounce can, canned on 02-17-20. Served in a Jackie O's snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like raspberries, vanilla, cocoa and some caramel. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some coffee, earthy and chocolate syrup flavors. Not as sweet tasting as I was expecting this to be, but that's not a complaint at all. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall brew, certainly worth picking up! $11.99 a 4-pack.

Canned on 2/17/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a dark brown, almost black; small khaki head that fades leaving solid retention and lacing. The aromas have a subtle blend of raspberries and milk chocolate. Mild floral notes. Lots of malts. The flavors are balanced. Nice enjoyable sweetness. More milk chocolate and cocoa nibs. Some chocolate syrup. The raspberries shine without dominating. Some vanilla in the mix. More floral notes in the mix. Low bitterness. Nice malt backbone. Alcohol is ultimately well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and dangerously drinkable.

This is a pretty solid brew. The raspberries and cocoa nibs shine with the vanilla doing its thing in the background. Everything is balanced. It might not be super flashy or over the top, but it's simply enjoyable and fun to drink. It's really smooth stuff. I like it.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This excellent brew pours a
rich dark muddled brown color with a nice head of tan foam
that settles to a thin ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some
very nice lacing. Nose of raspberry, mild coffee, mild dark
chocolate, and faint char and roast. Flavors far exceed the
nose with dark chocolate and mild coffee adrift in a river
of raspberries with balanced roasted malts and moderate char
as well as touches of cream. Nice mouth feel; medium full body,
medium light carbonation that is lightly prickly, and a rich full
roasted malt and fruit laced raspberry finish.

Overall, a SOLID new brew from a great little brewery!

Cheers

Dull black to dark brown with a short, light tan head that quickly settles to a thin ring.

The smooth, slick medium body delivers a lightly tart tang of berry within the mild coffee-like roast, as notes of milk chocolate and a little vanilla rum heat come out in the tingly, almost cola-like but semi-dry finish.

Raspberry stouts in general tend to miss more than hit for me, so this is fairly enjoyable and easy drinking all things considered, particularly for the ABV as well ("porter", psh, gtfo).

Something new! And that first review has to be a rave, especially when it is deserved. This cool fruity porter is odly and appropriately named after members of a roller derby team.

It pours dark and thin with nice thin head. The aroma is boozy and fruity. Exotic. The taste follows suit with fruit sitting out there equal with the big malts. Make no mistake, this is a big porter, and it won't let you forget that.

Highly recommended. This should stand up to anything. Get em while they are available.
