Big thanks goes out to mikesgroove for sharing this one with me during the Halloween festivities at his house! Thanks buddy! Served from growler into a Bell's stemmed tulip. Poured ruby red with a minimal off-white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, spices, and chili pepper. The flavor was of sweet malt, chili pepper, chipotle, caramel, and subtle smoke. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. For this to be a Smoked Beer, I was honestly expecting more smokiness to carry through on it. However, this tasted more like a Spiced Beer as there was definitely a light chili heat bite on the followthrough. Nicely done, but just a little off for the style in my opinion.

burnt amber color with a decent amount of clarity in it that was soon filled with carbonation bubbling to the top. nice head of off white caps it at around one inch. aroma is light campfire, roasted malts, hints of bark, caramel, light earthy hops. all nicely put together. very light feel, but it seemed to work in this case. clean flavor with a smooth after taste that again seemed to work quite nicely. clean smoked flavor, lots of earthiness and a bite of pepper

Pours a fairly clear Brownish orange. A touch of white head. Smells sweet and malty. Sme honey perhaps on the nose? Tastes roasty and malty. Sweetness overwhelms. There is a touch of smoke on the tongue.well carbonated. Im enjoying this a lot more than i expected.

T-light smoke and lots of malt. Let down from smell but still good

M- medium boey and smooth

O-very good beer and a pleasant suprise.

Pours a nice rusty red color with quite a bit of red coming through. The head is tan and has pretty good retention before falling and leaving a bit of lacing behind. The nose is quite nice and I love how the smoke character fits in. Really fantastic use of smoke along with some candied fruits in the background. Smoke isn't overpowering in the nose or taste, but you know it's there. A really nice touch that's pleasant in the feel and the finish as well. One of the top smoked beers I've had. This was really interesting and unique for the style.

A- Stunning this beer looks like a painting of the rolling hills of Western, PA and Eastern, OH in the fall. Has an attractive deep amber color with a reddish brown hue. To quote cmurren25 "fall in a glass." Has a thin white head with a stream of dissipating bubbles to announce its on point carb. I can't get over how interesting it looks if you held it up to the window in the fall it would transport you back in time to when you jumped in leaf piles after they were freshly raked.

S- Wow a very pleasant, subtle smokiness with a faint oaky notes. Astounding is that aunt jemima? I am getting some very little maple notes with a light sweetness of honey as it warms. God damn it smells like hickory smoked bacon and pancakes and it's ready to taste.

T- Shocking all of the flavors meld and have created a masterpiece on my tastebuds. The smokiness in mind blowing because it does not taste like liquid smoke, but it is a perfect smokiness that works well with oaky taste. As it finished I am greeted and then left with a combination of malty sweetness from the maple and honey. It is astounding that the maple and smoke work so well with the honey and oak flavors. I need some breakfast for dinner after this one.

M- Awesome, thick and chewy. The maple provides a great texture that coats the inside of your mouth and allows you taste the smoke and oakiness. I love it, it is very pleasing and odd to have a smoked beer that is a little viscous. The carb is low so there is no tingling just a sweet, syrupy coating.

D- Amazing, it's a rather low abv and there's not much warming so I would love to throw a bunch of them back. The sweetness could be a little much at some point, but the smoke has me hooked indefinitely.

A great example from a little know brewery that produces so world class brews. Thanks again Deuane.

Presentation: Poured from a 64 oz growler into a standard pint glass. Picked this up at the brewery last weekend. Described as a "smoked red ale brewed with maple syrup."

Appearance: Pours with 2 fingers of light tan head. Still very much carbonated after its week long rest in my refrigerator. The head settles slowly, eventually dropping to just a ring around the glass. Some lacing. The beer itself is the color of tarnished copper with a slight haze.

Smell: Smells like the morning after a campfire, smoke is present, but not overpowering. Hints of roasted barley bitterness.

Taste: Decent carbonation bite upfront. Biscuity malt with just a hint of sweetness. Caramel malt backbone with mild hop bitterness and hints of maple in the finish. Long, lingering smoke.

Mouthfeel: Average to slightly lower than average carbonation level. Body is great, with a slight slickness to it.

Drinkability: Damn. Why does Jackie O's have to be over an hour away? I would probably hit this place up once or twice a week if it were closer. This beer is an excellent blend of several flavors which go exceedingly well together: smoke, nuttiness, and maple.
