Made my first in-person trip down to Jackie O's this Valentine's weekend for my birthday. Needless to say, I was quite excited and encountered an impressive lineup.
Appearance- Pours a sparkling golden with lots of beading carbonation and about a quarter finger of creamy white head that sticks around almost throughout the entire drink. Lots of sticky lacing left as well.
Smell- Smells like a big ole' fruity hop punch to the face. Similar to their IPA, the DIPA is very much west coast in its fruitiness. Lots of tropical passion-fruit, pineapple, grapefruit rind, and orange. Hop profile smells deliciously fruity.
Taste- Huge hoppy notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and orange creamsicle. The notes of orange are much more prominent than in the standard IPA. A greater complexity in the hop bouquet as well. Finished again with a drying hop bite.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Mouthfeel is spot on with a nice creamy smoothness and goes down easy. Drinkability is stellar for the ABV. Really liked this one.
Overall, not only probably the best DIPA I've had on tap, it is one of the best DIPA I've ever had. Probably my favorite beer of the night and really quite good.

Poured from a growler into a Teku glass
A: Deep orange with a one-finger head
S: A nice blend of all things hops- citrus, pine, tropical fruit with none standing out over another
T: Matches the nose- a balanced blend of all things IPA without any one note standing out
M: Full-bodied but dangerously balanced- not a hint of alcohol
O: A really well-made, balanced, tasty DIPA

Bright golden color. Orange on the nose. Nicely balanced fruit and malt with a nice long finish. Yum!
