From the bottom of the can: "CANNED L 08-13-20 10:56"

Appearance: The body is pale gold with a medium haze. It has a large, dense head that has an eggshell white color. The head has very good retention and it doesn't seem to go away at all. Very good lacing. The more I drank the beer the more I enjoyed its appearance.

Aroma: It has a nice citrus aroma which smells a bit like orange and grapefruit peels. The aroma is mellow but nice.

Taste: Up front there is a pleasant citrus grapefruit character mixed with a light touch of caramel. Towards the middle of the mouth there is even more grapefruit character along with a grain flavor. At times there is a light mix of hay and wildflower that comes through. Near the back of the palate there is some pine. The overall presence of flavor is medium.

Mouthfeel: It is lighter bodied with excellent carbonation and a nice medium bitterness.

Overall: It is a very good beer that has a pleasant flavor and a nice but mellow aroma. It looks fantastic in the glass. I would recommend picking it up if you're looking for an IPA to pair with some food. It would go well with a sandwich or some pizza. While it's not a beer I'd look forward to buying it is one I would buy with some food at a restaurant or pick up at a grocery store if it has a better freshness date than my regular IPA selections.

Aroma is yeast, grains/bread and pungent hops. The flavor is fruit/citrus , malts/grains, very slight earthiness and a mildly sweet/grapefruit hoppy finish.

This is one of the best beers in Ohio. In the IPA category, I put it just behind Fat Head's offerings. Strangely, I feel like this beer loses something when you pour it from the can to a glass. In a can, it is an incredibly hop-forward, bitter IPA--just the way I like 'em. In a glass, though, it seems to lose a bit of its bitterness. Perhaps it's the cloudy body and weak foam that makes it resemble a hazy instead of the dry-hopped West Coast style that it is, and this tricks my brain into suppressing the beer's hoppiness. Anyway, it's a safe bet for an IPA.

Hazy gold appearance with a large white head and good lacing. Initial aroma of pineapple evolved into a broader spectrum of citrusy syllables. Hop dominated flavors focused on a piney theme although there are hints of spice in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel leading to an average length finish.

Just had See Foam, this brewery's NEIPA, last night, but this is a very different beast. A Simcoe/Citra dry-hopped 7% West Coast IPA with 80 IBUs... jeez, haven't had many beers like this lately. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

Pours a completely clear golden-yellow color with an immense, cloud-like head of pure-white foam that settles down to about a finger after 5 minutes or so in my glass. Incredible sheets of lace here, and superb legs overall. Wow, just a grade-A awesome looking old-school IPA.

The nose is intense grapefruit rind, tangerine peel, mandarin orange, lemon, and pine resin with a nice helping of dankness as well. A ton of mango as well, with some peach ring candy for good measure. Very nice and well-balanced. Some light hop candy notes with slight maltiness, though it's definitely pushed to the background.

On the tongue, this is surprisingly tame tasting but it has a nice palate of grapefruit, overripe mango, pineapple, and orange peel. Solid rindlike profile with some decent bitterness, but it's much lower carbonation than I'd prefer and comes off less aggressive and more like a chore as a result. Clean and a little piney. Not as much going on as I thought there would be from the nose, honestly. Comes off a bit syrupy, which is unfortunate. I feel like this beer started off amazing from the appearance, but quickly became boring and difficult to get through for me. Wouldn't re-purchase.

L: Golden. Not particularly foamy. The lacing is thin and the surface looks oily. There are thousands of diminutive particles suspended in the solution.

S: Pineapple mango, papaya. The hops don't appear copious or pungent at this point. The malt tones are subtle and excellent.

T: Excellent. The hops are indeed copious and pungent. There's a guy who buys 2 cases a week from me, and that's a perfectly reasonable reaction to trying a Jacki-Os Mystic Mama.

F: It has a nice refreshing juicy haze to it. It's only a little resiny, but the resin flavor is excellent.

O: Well-balanced. Strong in all categories. Packs a kick too.

Canned on 2-12-19 so drinking this one about 2.5 months old. It really holds up well. The aroma is still kicking citrus. Jackie O's hoppy beers really seem to hit me just the right way. Malt/yeast/hops in unison really thrive. Only ding on this one is the finish is a touch moderately bitter. Otherwise really excellent.

Pungent, a little bit dank, musty, a little bit bitter, and slightly sweaty. I'm not getting much fruit besides hints of overripe peach and mango and they're so overriped that they are almost rotting, but I don't mean that in a bad way. Smooth yet sticky. There's an unpleasantness to the beer that somehow I actually find appealing, like Jennifer Lawrence's perfume in American hustle. The rankness and swampy hops give it a "so bad it's good" vibe. not a beer I'll come back for, but certainly one I'm glad to have tried. Curious to have more from these guys.

Canned 2-12-19
L: Barely cloudy. Mild head and lacing.
S: Pleasant smell of citrus, yet there is a off-putting aroma, (like a dead malt) that is prevalent up front. If I swish it around, the aroma departs..only to come back when the beer settles. During my swish.. the beer smells great.
T: Notes of citrus.. piney and clean.
F: Bitter, but not overdone. Light to medium MF.... with no aftertaste.
O: My 2nd time with MM. Both times I did not like the aroma: as presented. Not sure what it is, but otherwise, this is a good beer.

A hop lovers heaven! “Brewed with copious amounts of pungent hops” - no doubting that! After a crazy Monday in Ohio stumbled across this in a local supermarket. Really glad that I did - awesome beer that’s really hitting the spot.

Really nice pour out of the can. Good lacy head that reduced slowly, over pale gold ale. The can claims its brewed with "copious amounts of pungent hops" and they aren't kidding. I really enjoyed this!

Drank it from the can, so I can't speak to it's appearance - but I really enjoyed this hoppy brew. There's some grapefruit and citrus tastes that standout. Sorta piney, sorta dank.

Hitting another @WesMantooth beer, this is my first from Jackie O's. Canned August 11, 2017 per the stamp on the bottom.

Poured into a shaker pint glass, this is an almost clear golden hued shade of amber, with a bif, off-white head that left lots of lace in the "beer neglige" pattern.

Big, grapefruity and spicy hop aroma to this. Pretty sure this isn't a NE-style IPA.

Big, hoppy, grapefruit-like flavor as well, but with a substantial malt backbone, at least when compared to similar IPAs brewed on the west coast or the PNW. I've come to feel this is not unusual for Midwest IPAs. In this one, it doesn't stick out to the point where it's distracting to me, but it's just a little different. There's also a piney, sappy bitterness to this that offers a counterpoint to the sweeter, citrusy notes. Kinda reminds me of what is becoming the old school PNW IPA.

Medium bodied, with a thick, oily and resiny mouthfeel.

Nice, old school IPA that harkens back to a time when IPAs were a bit more bitter and a little less approachable and fruit forward. No one form of IPA doctrine has really captured me, but I do dig something like this. Great stuff!

Poured a clear straw color, with a 2 finger head that settlled but left a thin cap throughout.
Smell is dank, pine, citrus.
Taste is a huge bombardment of all things hoppy. Citrus, then pine, then a dank resinous marijuanna, and grapefruit. Leaves a nice sticky piney after taste.
Feel is an easy drinking medium body, average carbonation.
Overall I'm very impressed by this west coast style IPA. Most IPAs are either citrus or pine, not both. I'm able to pick out pine, resin, grapefruit, etc without it being a jumbled mess.

A: a hay orange in color, with a decent white head.

S: huge grapefruit, sweet orange peel, and tropical fruit with a touch of caramel.

T: orange peel and a touch of resin. Citrus bitterness, and a touch of caramel.

M: medium thick with moderate carbonation.

O: after hearing so many wonderful things about this brewery, this brew is kinda run of the mill. Not bad, just not outstanding either.

Served to me in draft in a pint glass, this beer draws a great, medium golden color with several streams of little
Bubbles fairly rapidly and continously rising to the beer's surface. Has a white head that's about about an inch thick when first served that settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with some small cluster swirls of foam on the beer's surface. Aromas of some bready, slightly caramel malts and an herbal, floral, piney hop smell. Has a bready, slightly caramel and sweet, malt taste followed by a nice herbal, floral, and piney hip bitterness. The hops here so dominate the flavor profile a bit. Has a lightly crisp, smooth and frothy, slightly oily, medium bodies mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, dry finish and aftertaste. A very solid IPA here.

Pay no mind to the BA and Bro score on this one. I would have rated this beer the same, this time last year but the recipe was altered in 03-2017 and it is phenomenally better. Trust me, it is much better now than the past ratings credit it for, thus is why the individual ratings are quite good as of late. It is a hoppy, citrusy masterpiece. This west coast style India Pale Ale is now top 5 in the single IPA class among Ohio breweries, and Ohio has some phenomenal breweries when measuring up to other counterparts throughout the country.

The appearance had a super nice looking glazed over bronzed yellow to light orange color to it. A nice one finger white foamy head appeared and dissipated within about a good thirty seconds. The smell, wow, had a big punch of citrus to light spice to a light pininess. The taste was there and packed a super nice punch of citrus flavoring coating my tastebuds. There’s a nice spritzy to light citrus/pine aftertaste leading to a crisp and somewhat dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. The carbonation is good for the style and for me. Overall, I say this was a good AIPA that I would have again.

12oz can purchased for $1.89 from local Heinens. 5/9/2017 stamped on bottom.

Clear straw-gold elixir poured into snifter yields a large, fluffy head which dissipates to a thick rim. Plenty of lacing.

Very fresh tropical fruit aroma, mostly pineapple, mango and kiwi. I don't get any pine or dank resin.

The taste is a mellow bitterness with tropical fruits now mixed and mingling with some pine, grapefruit and spice.

Well carbonated, a bit resinous with a lingering hop bitterness.

This is a nice change from the original recipe with very nice tropical fruit forward hops replacing some of the malt bill.

Have enjoyed this beer for years. They tweaked the recipe from 3/29/17 and on. It now has a huge citrus aroma from the second you open the can. A little less clean just a touch of dank. Very piney huge grapefruit bitter and smooth at the same time. Bravo. JO never disappoints.

Vintage optics: Clear golden straw color, billowy head, strong carbonation. Aroma is very dry, viney and earthy, which isn't my personal preference. Smells like dry Simcoe pellets, maybe a little malt grain in the background. Taste is Simcoe heavy, lots of chalkiness, grass, hopcone. A tad vegetal. Needs more balance from other hop varietals. Mouthfeel is fine.

Pours a pale yellow, with a large white head. Head is light, fluffy, and large. It takes some time for it to fall back into the brew, and leaves behind heaps of spotted lacing. Lively carbonation can be seen quickly rising up to meet the beers surface. I smell pineapples, peaches, and sugar. The nose is not bitter at all, with the malt coalescing beautifully with hop aromas to smell like a tropical bowl of fruit. The flavor is grassy, pine, slightly cracker like. None of the fruit flavors the nose hinted at. Lightly bitter, but very one note for me. Right at the end, as the last of the brew washes down, you get a hint of lemon. The beer is light on the palate, and the carbonation is present, but never overbearing. The slight bitterness makes for a slightly dry beer, but not overly so. Overall a very well presented beer, but lacking in complexity for my tastes. A good beer to knock back with a few friends, but not one I'd want to drink alone.
