A decent IPA from Jackie O's. Nice pine tones, in a somewhat smooth way. More an east coast IPA than a western one. I don't really have much to say about this one besides that it is a fairly easy drinking and even keeled beer. Pretty good stuff, though I am looking forward to the day when I have something mind blowing from Jackie O's.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #83 (Dec 2013):
“Brewed with a copious amount of pungent hops,” including Columbus, Warrior, Amarillo and Simcoe, all of which are showcased in an awesome array of aromas and flavors with a malty backbone to reign this hop-bomb in just a bit. Overall, a very solid and aggressive IPA in a can that won’t disappoint hopheads looking for their next fix.
STYLE: American IPA
ABV: 7.0%
AVAILABILITY: Year-round
LOOK: Light, golden, hazy, thick head
SMELL: Grapefruit, pineapple, grass, herbal, dan
TASTE: Chewy, sticky, resiny, grassy, piney, leafy, zesty, grapefruity, jammy, malty, bready, ashy

Made my first in-person trip down to Jackie O's this Valentine's weekend for my birthday. Needless to say, I was quite excited and encountered an impressive lineup.
Appearance- Pours a slightly hazy golden with about a finger of white head that sticks around for a bit before dying back to a thin coating. Some small amounts of lacing left.
Smell- Wow, smells like a west coast IPA here! Lots of huge grapefruit and pineapple notes dominate the nose. Smells very tropical and creamy.
Taste- Up front with lots of grapefruit rind and pineapple. Almost devoid of any notes of pine or resin from the hops, really dominated by a fruity juiciness that surprised me. Finishes with a nice drying hop punch.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth with a solid amount of carbonation. Drinkability is excellent and I could have sessioned this one if I hadn't want to try a variety of the other beers being offered.
Overall, possibly the best IPAs I've ever had at a small brewpub. Really quite good and paired with the Matriarch DIPA were probably the best beers of the evening.

Reviewed 3-13-15. Threshold Beer Glass. Canned on 1-7-15.
Appearance: My, how pale! Almost 2 inches of bright white head, frothy. Leaves a thin skim of retention. Nice lacing. Modest carbonation - slightly hazy gold.
Aroma: So hoppy it smells a little like gasoline, resiny.
Taste: Dry arrival. Clean, dry, bitter. Dry through and through, hoppy. Bitter finish. Malt? What malt? [Postscript: not fruity at all, just resiny, dank, grassy, somewhat piney, somewhat floral.]
Mouthfeel: Light, with modest carbonation. Perfect IPA.
Overall: Wow. This is a great IPA. Extremely hoppy, exceptionally refreshing. Could make this a regular. Very West Coast - light, hoppy, refreshing. [Postscript: I have since come to recognize the distinct smell and taste of Simcoe hops. This was a Simcoe beer, and I'm usually not a fan of Simcoe beers, though I liked it in this one.]

Review taken as soon as cans hit the shelves near the beginning of Fall 2014.
12 oz can with some pretty stunning artwork. I like Jackie O's and their style. Purple artwork of the mystic mama herself sitting on a black background. Poured into a Nonic style pint glass.
A - Hazy yellowish with a slight touch of golden yellow hue. It looks refreshing. Head pours decent and settles to a thin ring of lacing leave very good stick.
S - fruity and citric notes are what I picked out first. Passion fruit, tangerine, and even a whiff of kiwi. Pine resin note comes on faint with a touch of honeyed bread malt make up the backbone.
T - citrusy hops and a nice sweetness. Not quite as good as the nose, but still brings it's flavor across nicely. Citrus and somewhat dank resinous hops come run in between slightly sweet malt notes.
M - medium bodied and highly drinkable. A nice, refreshing feel to this. Texture is solid and it leaves it's flavor clinging to the mouth. Smooth mouthfeel that flows very well.
O - a very good beer from Jackie O's and one I will pick up again. This stuff tastes so fresh and it is just that considering Jackie O's is only about an hour away. Good stuff

Pay no mind to the BA and Bro score on this one. I would have rated this beer the same, this time last year but the recipe was altered in 03-2017 and it is phenomenally better. Trust me, it is much better now than the past ratings credit it for, thus is why the individual ratings are quite good as of late. It is a hoppy, citrusy masterpiece. This west coast style India Pale Ale is now top 5 in the single IPA class among Ohio breweries, and Ohio has some phenomenal breweries when measuring up to other counterparts throughout the country.
