On tap at Jackie O's
Blend based largely on an RIS.

Pours dark brown with minimal head. Looks pretty thick with low carbonation. Smells oaky and bourbon heavy. Lots of vanilla scents. Lots of malt and toffee flavours on the tongue. The bourbon is heavy but not overpowering. Very sweet and almost syrupy. Nice solid mouthfeel. Very drinkable and tasty

Picked this up many moons ago at Jackie O's. Served in a taster glass at Nora and Jason's place.

A - Thin tan foam settles to a collar and wisps, leaving behind tiny specks of lace. Turbid and murky brown body.

S - Massive oak and bourbon, supported by roasted and peated malts, dark fruits, and a bit of red licorice. The barrel does a pretty good job of balancing the malt sweetness, but this is still surprisingly boozy after nearly three years.

T - The taste is quite similar and delivers what one would expect: barrel-aged 'stuff'. Loads of oak, bourbon, roasted and smoked malts, hints of coconut, vanilla, marshmallow, caramel, and treacle. I'm definitely getting more barley wine and scotch ale flavors here and only a little in the way of roasty stout.

M - Medium-full body, lower carbonation, tannic, oaky and dry, with some definite alcohol warming. Perhaps a tad watery with the dearth of bubbles.

D - It's a solid barrel-aged blend; you can definitely discern elements of each component beer. However, it somehow seems like less than the sum of its parts and fades from the memory rather quickly. Also, seems over-oaked as Jackie O's is wont to do. However, no sign of infection, which was a pleasant surprise. Had no problems finishing the bottle amongst a few friends.

2010 vintage bottle 78/300
thanks davolebomb for the hookup

pours deep brown with a small tan head. smell is all sweet dark cherries and bourbon oak vanilla coming through. Taste follows the nose quite a bit with the cherries upfront that mellows out about 1/4th the way thru to a almost date bread like taste with a little bit of bourbon...not overpowering. Mouthfeel is very close to a good barleywine a little thinner on the body with just enough carbonation. Overall pretty good beer...definitely alot going on and i will gladly take any bottles that people have sitting around.
