Split with Alex and poured into a Bruery tulip.

A - Pours black, flat, a few bubbles here and there, but that's just about it.

S - Chocolate bourbon brownies (I told Alex not to steal this one from me), toffee, burnt sugars. Smells like dessert.

T - Not quite as good as the nose. Chocolate, bourbon, smooth oak, with a bitter chocolate finish.

M - Light body, a bit too thin, flat, creamy finish.

O - The nose on this one was excellent but the taste just didn't live up to it. A bit too thin, flat, all minuses for me. That said, it was still enjoyable and luckily, I like my stouts with little to no carbonation.

A - Well - it's flat, just like the rest of the nano series. I'm curious if Brad just poured these into bottles from the barrel and capped them. Black body with a glint of brown at the fringes.

S - Smell is terrific - a wonderful blend of bourbon, oak, dark chocolate, brownies, roasted grains, cake and surprisingly well-hidden alcohol. One of those beers that you keep putting up to your nose for another whiff of deliciousness.

T - Taste is somewhat less exciting. There's some light oxidation going on, and the pop of the aroma has been muted. In any case, there's a fair bit of dark chocolate, caramel, and vanilla, with lesser amounts of oak and whiskey in the periphery.

M - Pretty much still. Also, a bit thinner than I was expecting, although still on the heavier side of medium. Chewy and sticky texture is a plus.

D - I think this is one of the most successful Nano experiments, probably only second to the stellar Beans offering and quite similar to the Rye version. Still, I prefer the carbonation of regular Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition to flat, albeit, tasty variants.
