Notes:
We took our Razz wheat and soured it with B. Lambicus, Pediocaccus, and Lactobacilious it was then blended with our Organic Honey Nut Brown. Then blend was keg conditioned for 6 months allowing the wild yeast and bacteria to gorge themselves on the sugar rich nut brown portion of the blend. This beer is ripe with complexities including a fruity, musty, beady, and leathery nose and a light caramel covered raspberry flavor that finishes very tart and semi dry.

2016 bottle, opened today. Raspberry and tart notes in the nose, no off notes or oxidation. Same goes with the flavors -- there's nothing here to suggest this is almost 7 years old, just intense oud bruin notes mingled with raspberry.

2020 release. Pours a dark brownish burgundy with minimal head. Nose is dominated by berries. Malty and acidic with loads of ripe fruit. Tart, funky and acidic with a nice mouthfeel. Another excellent JO's brew.

Copper-red with a bubbly tan ring.
Smell is seedy yet funky jam with woody oak, cherry and almond paste.
Taste is very sharply sour with charred oak, roastiness and acetic cherry via a medium body, mild carbonation and sticky dry finish.

Everyone was saying how jammy this was. It's a really nice beer but about a b- in the jam zone. Slight funk on the back end with sour being the predominant flavor with raspberry.

This is the 2016 version, listed as a sour brown ale aged in oak barells with rapsberries.
A - mahogany color, gentle carbonation, stunning cap of loose froth.
S - Berries, toffee, beautiful earthy undertones, some alcohol rises through, with warmth the melding of the rapsberrie and the oak stitch together and are inspired
T - The base is a solid malt with a bit of light roast, sour component is delicate, the rapsberrie contribution is assertive but not overpowering. Time in the barrel only accetuates the flavors adding some vanilla.
M - Medium in body, soft on the palate, the water profile is neutral. Tartness creaps in, the the palate response reflects the tension between the base and the final product. Wonderfully balanced the feel is delightful.g
O - What a treat this is, sour, and tart. This release shows real skill, the use of the rapsberry is spot on, adding to the nose, while not dominating. The barrel touch is refined.
A true delight.
Cheers
