650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bottle number 386/600, 2013.
Appearance - Brown body. Small khaki head. Medium collar.
Smell - Musty and very nutty. Caramel malts. Estery.
Taste - Nuttiness right up front, but gets overpowered by a lemony tang. Builds quickly. No sweetness, but the nutty malts come back in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light body. Medium high carbonation with a medium tartness.
Overall - I'm not completely sold on this, but it's decent.

On tap at 3/2/2013 release event. Notes from taplist: "Black saison with hints of bitter chocolate and fruit."
Pours thick and black, thick creamy coffee tinted head.
Smells very nutty, mild chocolate, banana like yeast character, some dry spice. Really nice aroma but it's a little weak.
Tastes like coffee and chicory, some chocolate, nuts, hints of blueberry or other sweet fruit. Somewhere between sweet and bitter. Really good.
Super creamy mouthfeel, easy to drink, really excellent.
Yum!
