On-tap at 3 cellars in Franklin, WI:

Pours slightly hazed deep amber with a frothy head that becomes a lasting creamy, thin cover. Lacing sticks down the glass.

The smell is of citrus, hint of pine and hint of biscuit.

The taste is of American hops upfront. The middle is balanced with sweet, firm malt. Finishes long with a lively balance of bitter hops and sweet malt.

It is creamy/chewy. It is an "extra pale ale". Considering that, it has a body that is on the fuller side of light-to-medium . Nice texture.

This is a nicely balanced, full-flavored, easy-drinking APA. Great example of the style! Very enjoyable!

Served on-tap, this beer poured a very light yellow color with a thin white head that capped the beer for a long time as I drank. Aroma is of flowery and piney hops. Light bodied, this beer tasted like empty space. There was no malt sweetness to balance out the hop aftertaste, but then there wasn't a biting bitterness in the finish. What this really tastes like is a BMC light lager that was generously dry-hopped. I can't recall if Sprecher offers a propper IPA or hoppy beer, but this is far from a hop-lover's beer. Overall drinkability is okay, since it's so light, but this is something I won't be drinking again or recommending.

On tap at the Sprecher Brewery - the only place it's available.

A - Extremely clear golden yellow color with a large loose white head which had very little lacing and retention. Effervescent.

S - Abounding floral Cascade hop aroma with fruity esters and pine. No detectable malt on the nose. Extremely aromatic in a fantastic way.

T - Crisp and light with a subtle hop flavor that's not really bitter at all. Finishes clean and light with a fruitiness, pine, and slight mint flavor.

M - Very light with a nice crispness to it. A little dry on the finish and a definite carbonation bite.

D - This E.P.A. has an incredible drinkability. The hop flavors are good and wash clean with a nice crispness that makes for great consumption. If it was being bottled I would be picking up a case.

On draft at Barcade, Brooklyn, NYC.

Poured a hazy dark straw hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was little retention and lacing.

The smell featured an herbal and musty hop. A touch of anise detected as well.

The taste consisted of doughy malt, herbal hop and a slight cheese.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a good APA. A slight off flavor though.

Poured from the tap in the brewers beer garden. It's a pale yellow color out of the gate. A tiny bit of head that's a creamy white sits on top of the glass. A smattering of lace rims my glass. The aroma is grassy hops. Slightly sweet fruit but mostly hops. The flavor is hops and wet grass. It sounds strange but, I actually like it. It's as if you chewed of some barnyard straw. There's a biscuit finish that rounds things off nicely. Light body and mild carbonation. This a nice drinkable APA. Maybe they will put in bottles some day.
