Picked up a growler of this brand new Sprecher beer at the brewery on 11/19/11. Enjoyed it with some NFL football on 11/20/11.

Poured from the growler into a snifter.

A) It is a hazy looking amber. There was a finger of slightly off white head. The head dissipated rather quickly, leaving just a patchy dusting. There was not much lacing.

S) A very nice aroma. The sweetness of the malt seems to hint at caramel. The most detectable aspects of the nose are that of tropical fruits and pineapple. There is a bit of a floral presence.

T) The taste really follows the nose, only more pronounced. A good balance of the malt and hops. A nice touch of sweetness, perhaps a bit bready. The hops provides a pleasing pineapple, mango, and citrus taste.

M) A medium body. There was not a lot of carbonation. It is quite smooth and goes down easy. The finish and aftertaste are light citrus peel.

O) I really enjoyed this beer. The base for this beer is Sprecher's Special Amber, which is a pretty tasty beer, thus a good starting point. You combine that with fresh hops from Northern Wisconsin, and it really came together very well. This is not a hop bomb, but I'm guessing that was not the intention. It is a tasty amber, with an extra little something. My understanding is this beer will be available only at the brewery, and some local pubs and restaurants. If you are in the Milwaukee area, I say give it a try.
