16 oz bottle poured into a Sprecher pokal glass.
6% ABV, 14030 Julian date.

A - Below the shroud of thick egg shell-colored lacing lies a well-maintained skim of foam and crystal clear, gorgeously raw honey colored deep golden beer, filled with steady, slow streaming, tiny carbonation bubbles.

S - Sprecher's Mai Bock wafts soft, warm white bread to the nostrils with slightly browned crusts and caramel pralines adding delicate and welcome sweetness to the mix for a malty and beautifully simplistic aroma.

T - A near mirror image of the aroma, this mai bock follows through on it's aromatic promise of sweet caramel notes underscoring a warm, fresh bread-flavored maltiness that doesn't dabble in complexity but stays straight-forward.

M - That touch of caramel sweetness in the flavor doesn't last long on the tongue as the airy and lively carbonation scrubs the tongue through the medium body to it's dry, almost slightly metallic finish.

O - Sprecher's Mai Bock is perfectly suited for a Wisconsin spring that occasionally spikes with warmth but still drops to chilling temperatures. It's smooth body balances between light and refreshing and fuller and sustaining as the malt touches on caramel sweetness and freshly baked bread with a dry finish and clean drinkability.

Pours golden amber with a thin white head. Some lacing sticks.

The smell is of soft/mild caramelized bread. Not robust in aroma but pleasant in a subtle way.

The taste is of bread with some caramel. Not too sweet - some drying noble hops give a floral finish to it. Slight hint of warming alcohol is fitting for the style.

It is crisp. Overall, it's pretty smooth, though it is slightly astringent.

Overall, it's a well-balanced maibock and an enjoyable brew.
