Pours gold but there's no visible bubbles...so thats kind of a problem for me. Head and lacing are ok. Aroma is pine and caramel malt. Taste is similar with grapefruit. Feel is lightly carbonated. Overall, pretty good.

A:
PoursĀ a crystal clear copper
with a cap of beige puff that stays fairly solid throughout. Good retention; lots of lacing. (4.25)

S:
Lemon zest, pine, spicy herbs, rich caramel malt, red fruits. (4)

T:
Thick bitterness with red and yellow flashes of lighter, fruit accents with a long, lingering hop shellac finish with some minerals. (4.25)

M:
Medium-plus body with active carbonation and a dry, sappy finish. (4)

O:
Really nice IIPA.
It pours a beautiful, radiant color with an awesome head. The aroma is all floral/citric hops with herbal spice and thick malt. The flavor is similar, with a wave of citrus rind that progressively darkens and mixes with the malt for a sticky, bitter ending.
Really nice, big, bad beer. I'd have it again in a second. (4.25)

I'm not making ANY pretenses, I'm not a beer snob. I don't have a sophisticated palate that can detect the subtle hues and nuances. I don't have a lot of fancy, appropriate words to describe the drink. I like what I like and that's it. The color on this is nice, the smell is OK. But this stuff is just too damn bitter for may liking.

L: Clear amber with lasting white head

S: Strong piney hops with orange notes as it warms.

T: Bitter, piney hops balanced by a strong malty presence, far more malt backbone than I expect in a West Coast IPA. Very well balanced, especially as it warms. (In fact, my ratings from smell through overall are all .5 higher when it's warmer vs. straight out of the fridge.)

F: Slick, full mouthfeel with a perfect amount of carbonation.

O: Very nice, although not quite a "double" at 8 percent ABV. But this is one of the beers I always look forward to getting on my annual trip to the PNW, and I wasn't disappointed.

L - Gorgeous DIPA. Copper with no clarity, sediment floating, 1 full finger of head, and nice lacing left on top of the brew and all over the glass

S - Piny hops, citrus, and malty. Smells delicious

T - Bitter and tropical. Very piny! Well done!

F - Medium body and carbonation.

O - An excellent strong IPA (I won't call it double at 8%). Very hop forward, well balanced between bitter and citrus

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-dark copper/rust color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Sly trickling lace, somewhat messy.
The aroma had a nice blend of sturdy bitter pine to citrusy hop qualities coating the caramel/toffee malt character, somewhat bready and unyielding.
The flavor brought all of this together sweetly with an embracing hop bitterness slowly moving in quaintly. Aftertaste was a mobile sort of malty to hoppy sweet to bitter blend.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Some stickiness in the finish, but acceptable.
Overall, nice "West Coast" styled DIPA worthy of more pours, yes, even for a Vermonter like me, I like this.
