22 oz bottle poured in a pint glass. Nice copper color and white, lacey carbonation. Earthy aroma, medium body feel, and great bitter finish. I've had a few IPAs from Ninkasi and really dig the long, lingering bitter finishes that stay on the palate.

22oz bomber, no date.

A - Dark copper, hazy with no bubbles. Minimal head with decent lacing.

S - Metallic, earthy.

T - Flat, pretty much zero carbonation. Malty, earthy with minimal alcohol taste and fairly drinkable for an 8% brew.

F - Full-bodied, sweet somewhat heavy finish.

O - Flat, flat, flat! Boring, one dimensional and not something I'll be having again.

hazy orange, limited head.

Piney earthy scent. Accompanied with a difficult to identify medicinal smell. Perhaps a band aid or rubbing alcohol.

Earthy malts, light backbone, with a smooth transition to flowery tropical hops. Real dry, Champagne qualities. Slight spice with the alcohol and long hop finish.

Well crafted DIPA delivering the hoppy malts goods without trying to do too much.

Auburn and deep copper appearance, 1/3" white head. Kicks down a nice piney dry hop aroma.

Taste envelopes the palate with a hefty amount of bitterness and hops. Sticky crystal and caramel malt. Hides the alcohol well. The larger this brewery's distribution footprint got, the more the quality declined. They don't bottle date and they form big business agreements with retail, so who knows if this stuff is just older and on warm shelves.

No doubt when its fresh its good.

A: This poured a clear dark gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like light citrus.
T: It tasted like citrus hops and sugary malt. It had a clean bittersweet aftertaste.
M: It was somewhat thick with moderate carbonation. Nice full body.
D: This was a nice IPA, but the scent and taste were very basic. The body was solid and the finish was smooth with well hidden alcohol, so it was pretty easy to drink. Good but forgettable.

On tap at the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas. Matt pours a generous serving. Malt is evident up front. Hops take over in the middle. Finishes dry and smooth. A decent one inch head initially but somewhat less carbonation than I prefer. Scant lacing. Love the unfiltered look and taste. Can't escape the malts. Feel is not as full due to the less carbonation. Smell is very mild. Deceptive alcohol onboard. Great beer

The big, slightly off-white head is smooth and creamy, leaving even, 360-degree rings around the glass. While hazy, the body is a lovely medium amber.

The smell is sweet, yet happily hoppy: peaches, nectarines and caramel mix well with sharp citrus rinds and thick cuts of sticky resin.

The aroma serves as an accurate introduction to the taste, which is a round, well-balanced caramel malt and resinous hop combination. The medium-high bitterness is nicely countered by notes of peaches and toffee. Not nearly as boozy as other DIPAs, Tricerahops is a gentle giant: refreshing, amiable, and satisfying.

The medium body is milky smooth, with moderate carbonation that allows the flavors to take top billing. Alcohol warming is barely noticeable, a warm undercurrent on a breezy day.

Reminds me of Avery's Maharajah in its comforting hoppiness with a spoonful of sugar. It's flavors span the spectrum, but the end result is still so simply balanced.

Great balance of malt to hops. Smells citrusy. Having from a bottle so don't have stats on looks tough there is a small head and lacing noticed in the bottle. Floral and citrus notes. Great amount of malt to balance the bitterness of the hops and hid the abv. Delish.

22 oz bottle. No bottling info.

Pours a clear golden body with a white head. Some retention, good lacing.

Smell is a grapefruit citrus at first, but as it warms it becomes a little more floral. A very slight malt detected too.

Taste has the citrus/floral hops balanced out with a lot more malt then I detected in the scent. It's a great balance that really hides the alcohol.

Feel was under carbonated. Watery and somewhat flat. My 3.25 rating on the feel is generous. Did I get an old one ?

Overall; See feel.... Other wise it was great ! Almost gave it a 4, but with the funky feel I just couldn't.
I will drink this again ... and if the feel is better I will update this review.

Amazing beer, pours amber, hazy with a very mild white foam head, excellent retention. Aroma is hops all over the place, citric and resinous, very appealing. Taste is extremely good, very good balance between malt swetness and hops. Great beer, too bad It´s impossible to get in Mexico. Cheers

22 oz. bottle:

Pours golden with a lasting thin head that leaves spotted lacing.

The smell is citric (grapefruit), earthy, floral. Some pine, some black pepper.

The taste is of grapefruity, earthy/floral hops. Caramelized bread from malt backing in the middle. Herbal, bitter-leaning finish. Some peppery alcohol shows in the spicy finish.

Medium-bodied, towards full-bodied.

Bitterness lingers pleasantly. A bit different (in a good way). Enjoyable.

Hazy golden color with a thin white head. Good lacing. Aromas of grapefruit, earth tones, and sticky malt. The taste is malty but not overly sweet. Primarily citrusy hops with some dankness and complexity.

Poured out with an amber appearance and a soapy bone colored head. This one had some sediment floating about and also left some nice lacing down the glass.

The smell was a strong punch of hops, citrus, grapefruit and pine blasting out.

The taste is a big punch of grapefruit followed by a bittersweet citrus than comes some pine with a hint of a malt backbone. A very powerful and fully loaded flavor profile.

Mouth feel borders on the medium with a bitter hops finish.

This one is listed at 100 IBU's and I really do not get that. The hops punch is strong but not overly bitter. I do believe this one sits right on that fence though. If there was more hops punch it may tip it over to a point where it would be overly bitter for me. Also of note is the ABV is tucked very nicely into the beer and does not jump out. There was a bit of hops oil coating my lips upon finishing this refreshing beer.

Nice soft citrus elements to this beer, hoppy but not overly bitter. Orange/amber with creamy head, lots of sticky lacing. Grapefruit aroma with taste following the citrus notes and accented with some tangy hops and caramel malt. Well done!

Poured from bomber into hotel glass, minimal head. Nice golden color, somewhat viscous on the pour. Smells dank, taste of malt, piney again going with the dank descriptor. Nice beer, grabbed bomber at 7-11, good choice. Would buy this in six packs if it was available in Tx. Nice beer

Next confession... I'm not a hop-head.
And doubling the malt won't make me a fan of hops either.
I'm glad I had this after exercising and I needed a quench. And it quenched... but was hard to finish.
Pretty much below average across the board except for the citrus aroma.

This beer is listed on the "1001" and does not deserve to be there... but with your 90, probably does.

Wow. Got to say I was pleasantly surprised. This was left in my house by a friend in a typical screw top growler. I forgot about it for a week and when I cracked it open, I thought I was going to get a flat, dull beer. This was great. Beautiful fluffy, white head retention. Notes of mango, pine, dank citrus and a pleasant sweetness smacked me in the nose. I don't know what hops they used but it certainly seems like a Centennial and Simcoe combo. Hops are forward (duh) in the taste but the strong malt backbone balances it out. This Dino coats the mouth and while the alcohol is strong with this one, it isn't apparent in the taste. Strongly recommend.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a deep, caramel coloring with a steady flow of carbonation and a foamy, frothy, clingy, off-white head. Nose of peppery and floral hops, rich caramel, mossy and grassy notes, and a rich, resinous, bitter pine pitch character. Very vegetal. Flavors are rich and resinous forward, heavy on bitter wet grass and pine pitch, with a solid roasted caramel backbone. Peppery highlights, with herbal and spicy hops throughout. Very balanced, but transitions into a bitter, resinous hop bomb in the aftertaste. Very solid. Bid bodied and oily slick, with a dry, bitter, hop lingering finish. Great beer.

22 oz bomber poured into Belgian ale glass.

L: Pour gives 3+ finger head with good retention, nice lacing, and a cap. Beer is a deep copper with a stream of carbonation bubbles.

S: Lots of piney hops up front. Tropical fruit and light malt.

T: Largely follows smell. This is a hop bomb, but with some sweetness on the back end that balances out the bitterness.

F: Medium bodies, light to medium carbonation, pretty good drying. Very little evidence of alcohol.

This is nice.

Pours a deep clear amber with a short lived creamy white head. There is a decent amount of small sticky lacing left on the glass. The aroma is caramel malt and pine hops. The taste is much the same, although there is a slight floral hops hint. The body is little lighter on the double IPA side but not watery with just a hint of carbonation.

Poured a clear ruby tinted orange body with frothy two finger head that left lace patches down the glass. Aroma has a dry, earthy hopped smell to it but there are notes of grapefruit and malty sweetness. The hops are the star as the beer is overly dry, bitter, a citric and earthy taste comes from them and the beer finishes dry and there is a bit of sharpness in finish thanks to lively carbonation. Beer has some touches of sweetness that even comes across as sticky at times. One of those IPAs that can possibly nuke your tastebuds but is enjoyable and the touch of grapefruit/malt sweetness keeps the hops in check (thankfully).

From a 22 oz bomber, pours a golden orange with a little haze and a 2-finger head that's off-white and dense. Smell is a little muted but I pick up spicy hops, a little pine and citrus. Taste starts with what's on the nose, but quickly rips into a piney bitterness that works well for me. Feel is a little sharp and thin initially, but once the bitterness kicks in it's sticky and resinous. Decent IIPA.

One finger foamy head on top an otherwise normal looking golden beer. Nose carried a little bit of piney bitterness, both nothing really overwhelming. Nose fades off with sweet malts. Taste swaps the players around a bit as an initial malt attack happens but quickly turns to grapefruit / pine taste. Finish is dry, a touch tart and leaves behind a bitter blanket on the tongue. With as much malt happening, I checked the date to make sure it was good, and it said February 17 2016, so guessing if they put that out there as a best by date, than this product as reviewed was their intent. So the malt presence IMO was fair game.
