Bomber poured into a shaker pint glass. A medium orange amber hue with three solid fingers of sturdy, creamy off-white head that retains its shape well. Aroma is bright, vibrant, hop-forward. Some grapefruit and canned tangerine citrus, overripe passion fruit, kiwi, starfruit, orange, pineapple, pine needles or menthol cough syrup, gooseberry. The aroma is perhaps downplayed but if one goes looking there is a whole cornucopia of fresh perky hop smells. Subtle caramel malt sweetness.

I am pleased to report that the taste largely follows the nose. Sweet, rich, boozy, fruity. The aforementioned citrus and tropical fruit elements translate as tree-ripened, warmed in the sun, slightly fermented on the palate. Some catty character but not overpowering as in its non-imperial stablemate. Think pineapples stuck with pine needles and cloves, draped with orange and grapefruit rinds and drizzled with passion fruit and guava juices. And some alcohol. Deceptively drinkable and smooth though, with the tropical flavors only compounding this attribute. Great stuff. I am finding that the bitterness is subsiding in favor of a fruit bowl chewing gum sweetness. Is that some cantaloupe melon now? Malts are bready and perhaps more salient that the DIPA bible says they should be. Who gives a shit? Its all hanging together. Body on the thick side of moderate. Carbonation is similarly more bold than expected but not caustic. Finishes with a decent degree of citrus rind and peach after all that tropical saccharine to-do. Black tea comes on late.

Evidently this brewery has recaptured my IPA regard after a spotty showing the first time around. Bravo!

I really enjoyed this one probably the best I've had from Ninkasi. A lot of their beers have been disappointing but this one is a classic hop bomb. Cheers

This is an OK IPA. It doesn't have any standout trait, its just slightly above average across the board. It is in a very crowded market however, and at 7$ a bomber, I don't feel that a repurchase is justified. 7$ goes along way in the west coast IPA market.

Bomber. No bottle date. Tasted very old and malty. Will not try again.

Enjoyed on tap.

Golden honey color. Light head retention. Very sweet and quite delicious. Light bread taste. Mild malty flavors. The fruit flavors on this one are awesome--strong mango and orange.

Overall, I really liked this IPA. It wasn't knock-you-off-your-feet intense, and satisfied everything I was looking for at the time. Would try again.
