Pours a clear yellow with fine, wispy head.

Smell is bready and floral with notes of biscuit and citrus.

Taste is clean and floral. Light biscuit and herbal notes and a soft bitterness. Very crisp and refreshing.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a nice, easy to drink beer. Not very exciting, but well made.

Pours a clear, golden coloration with a medium, foamy head and visible carbonation. Smells of doughy, slightly grainy malt and grassy, slightly floral hops, with just a hint of fruity esters. Taste follows the nose, with doughy, slightly grainy malt in the foreground, being balanced by grassy, slightly floral hops with hints of fruity esters and hay. Finishes with a light sweetness and bitterness and some grainy, grassy notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and strong carbonation. While this does have a decent balance of sweet, grainy malt and grassy, floral hops going on, it's a tad to sweet and floral for my personal taste and I'm also not sure if the light estery notes really have any business in a Kölsch and I find them somewhat displaced myself.

Reviewed as part of BJCP training. 5B kolsch.
Pours a light fizzy bubbly head, not much retention, crystal clear golden pilsner color

Nose very light malt, fair fruity esters maybe a little high, malts get complex and grainy sweet but still light, mostly clean fermentation very faint winy/sulfury note acceptable, as well as slightest DMS from pils

Taste more malty sweet light grainy pilsner malt, fairly light in general, mild fruity esters less than the nose, again very faint sulfury winy now, medium low bitterness coming with the mild sulfur spicy note, very light floral spicy noble hop, mostly dry finish, mild lingering bitterness

Mouth is medium to lighter bod, nice moderate carb, fairly crisp

Overall right in style as expected, fruity nose a bit high, sulfury taste gets a little high as well, otherwise nice

Clear yellow colored beer with a tall white colored head.

Smells of banana and toasted grain with a grassy hop scent. Faint flowery hop scent.

Starts out strong on the tasted grain and yeast. Caramel taste but mostly it is toasted grain.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall it tastes like beer.

Pours clear. Some slightly musty, estery floral notes on the aroma. Beer drinks smoothly, with a rounded, clean finish. I kept thinking of flowery notes here, probably from the yeast?

This is one of the main character on the kolsch scene. It's quite enjoyable.
Golden colour, moderate lacing.
Noble hops are present but this one is a lot about the malts. Very round and drinkable. I could easily go back to this one

I loooove the look of this. Just pure gold in a glass. The smell is lemon, tart apple and honey and the taste follows suit. Mouthfeel is refreshing and light. This is an easy drinker at 4.8% and has a nice flavor of something you could fade all day.

Pours a clear gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of wheat, pale malt, and slight corn. Fits the style of a Kolsch. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is a slight dryness and a hint of metallic notes. Tastes of wheat, pale malt, slight corn, hint of dough, hint of floral hops, and slight Euro yeast. Overall, weak appearance and aroma, but good body and blend.

A: Bright gold, white head.
S: Apples and carmalized malts.
T: Starts with poor caramal malt flavor, but delivers a crisp, pleasant green apple after taste.
M: Light bodied and crisp.
O: A decent kolsch.

This one pours a brilliantly clear straw yellow, with a small tight white head, and not much lacing.

This smells like bready and doughy malt, lemon, and grassy hops.

This one tastes basically the same- there's a nice crisp and smooth grassy hop flavor, with slight lemon sweetness, and a killer bready malt backbone. It's simple but executed very well.

This is crisp and light bodied, with a good level of carbonation. It's really really drinkable.

This is a classic Kolsch for a reason. It's pretty great.

This is my first kölsch and I'm surprised how good it is! It is very different from your usual German beer or pils - you get none of the yeast in the nose nor the bitterness in the aftertaste. It is very light and drinkable with some interesting fruitiness in the end, almost like apples.
Quite nice, easy to drink, enjoyable.

Bottle. Straw with a thin but dense head.
Grainy aroma. Somewhat metallic. Lemon.
Sweeter than expected from the aroma. Otherwise reflects the smell with added bread. Some astringency to finish.
Highly carbonated. Light to moderate body.

Had this on tap at the Fruh restaurant in Cologne Germany. Pours a fairly clear bright gold color with a medium sized white head. Head retention is average and there is some wispy lacing on the glass. I had it with a local favorite "heaven and hell" blood sausage and caramelized potatoes. The aroma and taste include bready and gtainy malt, a little apple juice and some mild grassy hops. Fairly mild but good flavor. Mouthfeel is the best part!! Crisp and clean, very refreshing and a good choice to accompany a heavy meal on a hot day. I'm sure I will not have liked a 4 month old bottle in the US as much, but fresh on tap is very nice indeed.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright gold color, with a thin white head that fades very quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light caramelized malts, grain and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with a strong malt sweetness that is quickly followed some breadiness from flavors of grain and a thin malt character. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Poured at cellar temperature into a stein and a tumbler to look at the color. Watery gold like a pilsner, head vanished almost immediately, no apparent lacing. Mild on the nose like grain and malt, hints of lemon custard, vanilla bean, hops, and coconut cream pie. Intriguing. Flavor starts with light juicy malt, sharp crisp refreshing hop, caramel, and spearmint. Maybe a flash of light apple, Bartlett pear, and tangerine. Mouth feel is light, yet rich and round. This is a really nice beer, not the most stereotypical kölsch but lovely and exciting.

11.2 oz. bottle

Pours clear yellow gold with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like concentrated apples, pears, grapes, honey biscuity malts, mild tobacco spice, with floral earthy grass. Tastes likes apples, pears, grapes, honey biscuity malts, tobacco spice, with floral earthy grass. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate low tingling carbonation. Overall a real nice kölsch.

Appearance: Pours a clear goldenstraw with a very thin head that fades rather quickly; a few dots linger

Smell: Sulfur dominates after the pour but settles in to a grassy tone with hints of apple and honey

Taste: The front end brings apple, green grape and a hint of honey, with a crackery malt element underpinning through the middle; grassy and somewhat sulfury tones build, after the swallow and into the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: I have no idea how old this bottle might be but the beer has held up reasonably well; the mouthfeel could be better but the flavors seem intact

500 ml bottle poured into a pint glass

A- A clear golden yellow with a two finger white head.

S- Good bread, touch of grapes, floral and slightly earthy hops, some Pilsner malts.

T- Sweet bread, hints of light fruits and grapes, touch of honey, hops are floral.

M- Smooth, light to medium body.

O- A tasty Kölsch that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in the style. Nose is more balanced than the taste which is very malt forward. Very easy to drink

From estucerveza. In Bavaria glass. Watching soccer match Spain vs Lichenstein (8-0) Ultradrinkable, with a pleasantly soft malty backbone with a good grassy hop bite. The best kolsch Ive drank with difference

Pint at the Underground.

Pours a pale golden yellow with one finger of white head that leaves amoebic blobs of lace as it recedes.

Smells of grainy pale malt, apple and pear, grape skin, minerals, flowers and cut grass.

Tastes of more crackery malt and orchard fruit, grape skin, faint honey and more floral, grassy hops.

Feels mild and refreshing. Light bodied with gently frothy carbonation. Finishes off-sweet.

Verdict: Highly recommended. Will cool you down.

330ml bottle poured into a Kolsch glass. All given by supplier.

Poured with little head. What little head was produced dies instantly and left no bubbles or lacing whatsoever. Standard yellow lager colour.

Nose has some some bready malts - not much else.

Palate is ok. Nothing really stands out.

Quite drinkable and could be sessioned. Refreshing on a hot day. I wouldn't buy it and probably won't drink it again.

Mouth is typical of a lager. Thin and watery but not particularly bad.

Would recommend for fans of the style.

L: clear golden color, small head that lay on the surface, bubbly

S: some fruity notes ,like apples, some sweet malts ,herbs and floral hops

T&F: Start with a good malt sweetness , and then it goes more over to hop bitterness, and ends with a dry finishing , a good aftertaste that last as it should. Quite refreshing taste, lack a little crispness in the mouthfeel. Else it is extremly easy drinking and thirst quencing.

O: For a hot summer day like today this was really refreshing and good. I sure would trie this again if i get the chance. All in all a good beer
