Poured from a can. Very light in color with a good sized white foamy head and lacing. Smells of grain, malt and pear. Flavor kind of follows the smell with hints of grape and honey. Light mouth feel and refreshing.

Beautiful pour of exceptionally clear liquid capped by a pretty dense head. The liquid look sparkles. The head fell fairly quickly with some lacing. Endless bubbles stream from the bottom.

Sweet, bready malts lead the aroma. There is a very slight sulphur note, but it seems to go away. There's a little citrusy lemon smell mixed in with a fruity white grape. The hops are quite faint, but herbal and a bit floral, and there's some slight yeasty earthiness.

I find this a bit sweet on the opening of the taste with clean and cracker-like malts. It has a bit of a honey vibe going on. Then there is an herbal and little floral taste with a mild spice kicking in. There is a hint of bitterness on the finish, and I do get a bit of a Sulphur taste now and again. Earthy yeast. Very well balanced between all of the component tastes and it is pretty harmonious.

The feel is light and fairly lively, pretty refreshing.

Overall a pleasant drinker with outstanding clarity, a light and delicately balanced flavor. It's a nice example of the style.

500 ml can
Consumed: 17 July, 2022
ABV: 4.8%
Glass: 0.5L Stange
Temp at Pour: 39.4 F

Clear dark straw yellow with bubbles constantly rising. The initial head was 3 fingers of rocky and pillowing white foam. This quickly collapsed to a very thin ring-and-cover. Decent lacing remains on the glass.

Very light bread and/or biscuit. Sweet light/white fruits such as pear and white grapes. Faint scents of a white wine (rgordon mentioned Riesling in his review; from what little I know of Rieslings that is fairly accurate). There is a light spicy/herbal/floral note in there as well. All of these scents are muted at first, likely due to the serving temperature.

Semi-dry white wine (yep - Riesling) all the way. :)
More seriously, the flavor is primarily fruit forward with notes of pear, apple, and grapes. There are some crackery malts that underly the fruit notes, but these are really in the background. Some lemon is in there as well. A peppery tingle shows up and rounds out the sip. The finish is slightly dry with a touch of bitterness.

As the beer warms a sulphur note pops in here and there.

Crisp and clean. The body is light-medium.

A very good Kölsch that represents the style well. Refreshing and extremely drinkable. This has to be one of my favorites of this style.

Pours an absolutely crystal clear golden straw color with a creamy white head that is 3+ fingers after an overly aggressive pour and provides moderate lacing whilst sticking around for quite a while as you drink the beer (a finger+ after 5 minutes in the glass). An absurdly gorgeous beer.

The nose has a bit of a metallic note that yields to lemongrass and sweet bready malt aromas which don’t particularly stand out individually but work as a whole.

The lemongrass does take center stage on the taste, and it is delicious, perfectly balanced by the subtle bready malt flavor and an estery touch that is exquisite. The mouthfeel is well carbed and crisp, the definition of an easy drinker.

For the style, this is the best I’ve had. Truly a pleasure to drink.

Picked up a pint single from TW-Greenville, SC 6-8-22 for $3.79. Best by 04-01-2023; consumed 7-16-22.

Beer poured gold with a very nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is light fruit forward, very nice.

Taste follows the nose with a very light malt base that has apple and pear esters showing very nicely with each sip. Finishes with the perfect hopping giving a nice little tingle in the after sip.

Mouthfeel is so soft and velvety yet so refreshing. Can't get over how soft this beer is!

Overall an excellent example of the style!

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Extremely pale yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a coarse white head. Strong sweetish fruity and grassy aroma. The flavour is fresh and slightly fruity with a peppery hint. Decent hops in the aftertaste.

Perfect appearance: golden clarity, whole hand fine white head, full curtains lacing and cap.
Strong yeast, bready, mineral aromas.
Pepper, lemon zest, pear, grape, Brady flavors.
Dry puckering bubbly carbonation. Half liter goes down like water. Perfect for a muggy summer day.

Apeparance: Pours a completely clear, light golden color with a strong white head that lingers. SRM of 6. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of authentic pale malts and German yeast. A pale Kolsch yeast aroma. (3.75)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of pale malts, bread malts, authentic German yeast giving a soda bread, metallic and Kolsch yeast flavor. Some German pale malt and bread on the finish. Very minimal fruity notes. Dry. (3.75)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Strong carbonation and yeast for a full-mouthfeel. Dry yeast lingers. (4.25)

Compared to Utepils Skolsch 6/9/22: Pours a lighter color. Stronger aromas. More authentic German yeast and bread malt. Less fruit and flower.

Overall: A decent Kolsch here. Stays true to the style with the authentic Kolsch yeast flavor, which almost has a dull, soda bread and metallic note. Less fruit than I would have expected. A full, yeasty mouthfeel. Almost like a dry, yeasty, Harp Lager. Authentic, but I think could have used slightly more fruitiness here. (Rating: 3.82)

My first thought of Kolsch is no thought. Just like a Stealth Bomber, it doesn’t even show up on the radar for me (not because I hate it, but I guess I’m just super apathetic to it). It doesn’t make the Raul man repulse like watching the Giants win the World Series, it’s just pretty much “blah” to your boy. In Fruh though, like Newport Beach at 5 PmmM, the tides have turned. It’s nowhere near amazing as it shouldn’t be), but it actually has flavor and body as opposed to a tapeworm earring Instagram model. Plain and simple: Im content.

Go go go I tip you no longer know know know, my children.

Quite a nice and refreshing beer, poured out of a 5L mini keg. Poured out in a nice dark caramel, amber colour, with a sour backnote and heavy bready smell and taste, almost like sourdough. Perfect pairing beer for any type of steak/sandwich, easygoing. Nice one!

Poured 2 bottles into my large beer mug.

Look: Bright golden straw body. Nice white head, mostly retained throughout.

Smell: Bread. Estery floral notes--spring flowers.

Taste: Sweet malts on first taste: challah actually comes to mind. Mid to end taste is rounded out with an hoppy (orange pith) finish; even the slightest black pepper spice of alcohol on the back end. So simple and focused.

Feel: Lots of scrubbing bubbles throughout. Goes down very easy--extremely drinkable.

Overall: This beer is what it is--a drinkable kolsch that isn't pretending to be anything else, and in that sense, it's pretty much perfect. Would be awesome to drink in a Cologne beer garden--would love to try this on tap. I'll try seeking this out more often.

Bright gold, white fluffy head. Smells similar to a pils but a little more yeasty. I’m not a huge fan of this style but this is by far my favorite. It has the graininess you expect from a German lager but just a little more body to it. It’s still refreshing but the mouthfeel is medium. More malt and yeast forward, just some floral hops in the background for balance. I’d guess the IBU’s around 18-20.

I had this on tap in a beer garden in Newfields in Indianapolis. Was surprised to see something from Koln on tap. It was excellent. Poured into clear plastic glass but had a minimal lacing but a crisp bready smell. It was very refreshing even on a cool autumn night. I would certainly order this again. The taste was very simple and refreshing. I love Oktoberfest and Helles beers and this one was similar but obviously an ale but had more similarities to a great Pils.

500ml can into a pint glass. Best by 11/30/21, so plenty fresh.

Looking very good in the glass. Pale golden yellow body with light carbonation. Bright white head persists in decent form throughout leaving patches of lacing.

Not much of an aroma, nothing good or bad.

On tasting, clean, refreshing, malty, a little sweet. Faint bitter touch at the end.

Mouth medium, finish clean with a hint of bitterness.

Overall, excellent thirst quencher, clean and tasty beverage. Goes down very easy.

16.9oz can. Best by date stamped on can bottom is '30.11.2021'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Multi fingers white, small bubble head. Striking rising bubble show. Leaves some tendrils of lacing as the body recedes.
Aroma is fruity, more in the green apple realm. Also some toasted malts and spicy hops.
Taste follows with the fruity flavor, and there is a real hop bite. Malts in the aftertaste.
Full and smooth mouth feel, and with a crisp finish. Very good carbonation.
Perfect beer for multiple rounds of drinking. With lower ABV%, attractive appearance, and a pleasant bite with each quaff. Good balance of slight fruit sweetness, spicy hops, and the bite at the end.

11.2 ounce bottle - $2.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Clear, yellow-hued. The white head evaporates away instantaneously.

Smell: Lightly grainy, a bit floral.

Taste: Lightly grainy barley with a pinch of sugared cereal sweetness. Faintly floral, herbal-hinted hops. Lightly bitter. Progressively thins out, leaving a bit of a watery finish.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied, a bit watery. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Very Frühgettable.

Very pale, crystal clear, light straw colour with a huge head despite a gentle pour. Carbonation going absolutely bonkers. Resembles champagne or pear cider. Based on appearance one would assume it's a light lager. This is a very pretty beer. Enormous biscuit malts dominate both the nose and the taste, but on the tongue they give way to gentle floral hops in the finish. There is also a slight tinge of sourness throughout, just an undercurrent really, adding another dimension of flavour. That's about all that's going on flavour wise, but sometimes less is more. My only gripe with the flavour is it hangs around the middle of the tongue, feeling a bit thin, and short lasting. It goes down very easily, supremely quaffable. A great refresher for a hot day. Overall a pretty, elegant, refreshing, and flavourful beer. Lovely.

0.5L can pours a clear golden straw color with a decent amount of opaque white head that recedes to a ring around the glass. Smell is of biscuity malt and spicy hops. Flavor is heavy on the biscuity malt and a balanced sweetness, with a nice helping of hops flavors that are not too bitter. Full-bodied with a full and smooth mouthfeel with slight carbonation. Ends dry. Very good beer.
