On tap at the Ram in Indy. Poured a pure black without much head. No lacing is evident. Aroma is slightly sweet. The taste is also slighly sweet, but there isn't much else there. A very weak example of style, due to its watery thin mouthfeel and muted taste. You could drink alot of these in one sitting, but why would you want to.

The flavor is slightly roasty upfront, though this is attenuated by chocolate sweetness and bitter coffee flavors in the finish. Interestingly enough the porter has more flavor and a better mouthfeel than the nitro stout.

Nearly no head and certainly no lace. The color is black where light only passes at the very edges of the glass.

Deep, dark roasted coffee grounds is the smell I get. It may be a porter by name, but the smell is definitely a dry stout.

Light bodied and highly carbonated--less carbonation would have me swear that this is a dry stout. This is a porter with strong black patent malt component. I get no residual sugars at all. The aftertaste is like black coffee.

Likely the pick of the liter of the pints that I had at the BrewPub. With a toaty/roasty taste of coffee and chocolate, but with the dry finish of char and hop dryness the beer is as drinkable as it is flavorful.

Pouring a standard dark brown, the darkness is assisted by hte clarity of the beer. Though majorily clear the beer beer carries a lighter-than-expected colored head while remaining froathy and creamy. Low on lacing the beer reinforces its clean image.

Mild coffee, moderate cocoa/bittersweet chocolates, medium toast, and light maple syrups lead the way with very smooth and moderate intesity. Somewhat delicate and reserved the beer kinda pulls some punches in order to remain drinkable and careful not to offend. Though not bold, the beer appeals to a lot of dark beer drinkers.

Creamy and airy, the starts with the malty-rich beginning, only to be followed by a quick transition to toasty dry finish and a linger of cocoa powder and toast.

Overall, a good American-style Robust Porter but the timid nature of the beer and light body throughout keeps it off of the radar.

Came to the table with a good head, although it was a lot lighter than I expected, with little color to it. Good lacing. I really enjoyed the smell, a nice chocolate scent and a good helping of roasted aromas. The taste was all right, fairly deep with hints of chocolate, but nothing really much was there. Went down well, but not overly smooth. Like their other offerings, it is really worth a try, but probably not much more.

UPDATE: so much better! Still a little light in color, but great head and lacing; nice roasted grains aroma; great roasted grains/coffee flavor.
