A - Pours copper with a monster three finger head. No lacing.

S - A good mix between grapefruit and malt. No hop presence.

T - Hop resin, grapefruit, strong malt, lemon, wheat, mango, hops hops and more hops. Delicious.

M - Creamy, medium to heavy carbonation with a medium body.

O - Overall, I thought that this was a wonderful IPA. Certainly better than what the rating average would have you believe. I would definitely buy this stuff again.

Appearance: Impossible to pour. Excessively foamy white head. Excellent retention, though.

Smell: Subdued piney hops.

Taste: Pale malt, high hops bitterness, floral and pine hop flavour. Some pithy citrus as well.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, highly carbonated; feels heavy.

Drinkability: Not really there. Decent taste profile buried under a muddled mouthfeel.

Aroma is strong and hoppy, as the aroma for a good IPA should be. There is a firm citrusy undertone, mainly grapefruit. It pours a hazy dark honey-golden with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent off-white head. Flavor is mildly hoppy with a grapefruit undertone, not quite as good as what the aroma promised. Texture is fairly fizzy and leaves behind a nice tingle.

Poured from a bottle a slightly hazy golden brown with a whisper thin white head.

Aroma of pine and citrus hops with a backdrop of sweet malts.

Tastes of citrusy hops with a bitter touch plus a nice balance from the malts. The finish is very clean.

Medium mouthfeel, sticky, and moderately carbonated.

This was better than I thought it would be and a fine example of the American IPA.

Orange-amber appearance with two fingers of white head. Leaves a touch of lacing on the glass as the beer goes. Looks how an IPA should. Nose is slightly sour, but otherwise is subtly bitter with very light toffee malt. Flavor is very bitter with strong floral hoppiness. Light sourness shows up again. Body is medium and well carbonated. I've had a number of Arbor beers and they seem to almost all have a fairly strong sour presence (with the possible exception of the Bliss). I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not, but it seems strange for most of the styles. In any case, it wasn't too strong here, so this one's okay (although if I were going for a local IPA I'd probably stick with the outstanding Crooked Tree IPA or Two Hearted Ale).

1 finger of rich, creamy off-white foam. Body is a dark red-brown and is quite opaque from even a careful pour. Sweet, fresh baked toffee-chip cookies and fruity, floral, and slightly spicy hop notes in the nose. Malt flavor is heavy on the darker malts and has a sweet, raisin-like red ale quality while the hops are moderately high in bitterness and taste vegetal and soapy. Mouth is a dry and a little grainy from all the beasties floating around.

A decent brew, but very heavy all the malt. I prefer them slightly cleaner, but still pretty good.

Pours a clear dark-amber-gold, with a multi-inch head. The head is off-white and has a creamy cappuccino-textured top and large interior bubbles. The head settles in at about 1.5 inches with a rocky texture. The hops in the initial nose is floral and highly aromatic. Spotty Belgian lace. Clear malt notes are balanced against the bitter hops. Medium body, creamy texture and gentle lingering with some malt and hop notes in the finish. Sweeter than expected. The alcohol is not noticeable. Not particularly moreish. Refreshing and quenching.

Bottle poured into a pint glass.

A- It poured with a 2 finger, foamy/fluffy, off-white/cream head and a very hazy, golden/orange/brown body. It had medium carbonation and the head never dropped, leaving great sticy rings.

S- Initially it had a fruity aroma nearing sour apple with a some caramel coming later.

T- The flavor was hard to place. There was burnt caramel malts and definite hopping that gave a distinct grapefruit flavor. At the same time it had a tinge of sour.

M- It had a lot of carbonation and hop bite.

D- Odd flavors make the drinkability less than it could be.

Overall- An odd flavor profile makes this less than expected. Overpowering grapefruit bitterness is too much. I actually drank a second bottle to make sure the first wasn't a fluke, but I think it was presented as it was meant to be.

Bottle that I received from one of the regulars at my bar a couple of months ago. I wish that I had gotten to it sooner.

The color was a very cloudy copper. Poured a two-finger fluffy head that was a very light khaki. The head stuck around for a while, but then deflated rather quickly. Also, a shit ton of floaties. It would have gotten a higher rating if it weren't for that.

Pretty malt-forward in the nose. Toasted bread and caramel. Some light citric and grassy hops ride just beneath the malt, though they did come out more as the beer warmed.

Aaahhh, there's the hoppiness. Matches the nose in that the same flavors/scents are there. The hops are now predominant and they take on a very orangey taste. The bready sweetness is now underlying and it finishes a bit muddy, but there is a nice bit of caramel to make you overlook it.

This was an incredibly smooth IPA. It had an average body, but the drinkability was very nice.

I'd say this is a fairly average IPA. The lacking nose was actually a nice lead-up to how the beer tastes, but I absolutely hate floaties. I think they ruined it for me. If I ever have the chance to try another one of these, I'll have to make sure that I try it immediately.

Someone really loves to kick up the carbonation! The softest pour (I learned with my first go round with an Arbor Brewing beer that ya gotta watch it) caused a huge explosion of foam in the glass. Like 4 ounces of beer and the rest a head flowing out an all over the place. Waiting about 5 minutes for it to subside somewhat it does leave quite a bit of lacing.
Hazy and dark orange in color with some unfiltered particles dancing around. Mild and earthy on the nose with a light scent of hops and malt. Surprised that with all the out of control fizz upon pouring that the brew itself has nice, creamy body. Spicy and dry in the taste with a tinge of sour apple and dried orange peels.
