Burnt amber edges to a dark brown center with a ridiculous tan head. This beer sat in the fridge for two weeks, and when gently opened it foamed over repeatedly. Pouring into a glass, it was all foam--needless to say, it is overly carbonated.

Smell is stale raisins, toast, toffee, wheat, and pumpernickel.

Taste is wheat toast, pumpernickel, dry raisin, and Brillo pad with rotten apple-like hops again (I've had this in another Elevator brew).

Moderate body and froth, finishing sticky and dry.

Dark, ruby-hued body; thick, foamy, dense head. Dark roasted grain aroma. Malt sweetness; bitter chocolate; molasses. Medium-heavy body; mostly sweet finish.

A very nice dark lager with some respectable depth and complexity. The dark grain character is well-rounded and balanced while the mouthfeel is full, satisfying, almost chewy.

This is now called dark force It pours more head than liquid I had to drink the head down to pour the whole beer once it settles you get a reddish brown color with a big bread smell and taste with a medium malt finish

No bottle date. Dimpled mug.

Appearance: pours a dark brown, translucent with surprisingly little carb. Thin, off whitehead, fades to a thin skim. Retains to the very end.

Aroma: quite malty. Sweet & sugary.

Taste: fairly sweet and malty arrival, malty and sweet mid palate. Lingering sweetness on the finish. Really, too sweet for a schwarzbier.

Mouthfeel: mild carbonation for a lager, but significant. Clean. Lighter side of mid weight.

Overall: I like Eliot Ness and Mt. Carmel brown more for malty beers, but this is darn good. Cleaner than an ale when you want something dark & malty.
