I'm not a barley wine fan and this tastes more like that than an IPA. In fact, it tasted like bad barley wine to me. My taste buds cringed as I drank it and I couldn't keep from frowning no matter how hard I tried. I didn't bother finishing it.

Bottle label date: 07 27 2015 with an ABV of 6.9% (their web site lists the current ABV as 7.6%)

Cloudy, golden hued body with a very thick, creamy, dense head; lots of fine, gently rising carbonation bubbles. A faint, muddled aroma of grasses and herbs; sweet, malt grain note. Sweet, grainy flavors with some spicy bitterness; powdered sugar; biscuits and honey. Medium bodied; smooth, velvety texture; mostly dry finish.

The beer label claims "triple hopping" during the brewing process plus two rounds of dry hopping. Granted, the time between the bottle's date and my consumption is about five months, but there was little definitive hop presence in the aroma or the flavor. All the same, the beer looks great and has a pleasant, very enjoyable flavor even if it doesn't reach hop-bomb status.

The Three Frogs from Elevator is more English than American style. It poured a clear golden with this white head that did not lace. The scent and taste was very bitter. There is an attempt to mask the bitterness with sweet malt....which left the taste somewhat lacking. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall....I thought it was just ok.
