A - Poured a very dark black body with a think 3 finger tan head. Nice retention, beautiful lacing.

S - Very festive, cinnamon, milky, roasted malts, big robust coffee characteristics.

T - Simply put, this tasted like black licorice. There was so much going on with this beer it was extreme. From the licorice taste, cream vanilla body, milk, coffee notes.

M - Heavy body, silky, smooth, lingering finish.

O - Sometimes, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. This was good, but you had to search for your favorite parts. This was not as artfully crafted as their other beers. I wish this was blended better for a nice balance of flavors. There was just too much happening.

Pours pitch black and completely opaque with a two finger beige head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Sporadic spotty lacing left behind. Decent retention for the style and ABV.

The aroma of this beer is pretty crazy with a really strong spicy chai tea presnce integrated into roasted and silky sweet malt notes. Subtle herbal presence with very strong chai tea character. Underneath, there's subtle roasted coffee bean and bitter dark chocolate along with silky milk chocolate, lactose and toffee. Smells great!

Medium body with a prominent spicy chai tea presence integrated into a complex malt backbone. Spicy and herbal tea flavors with allspice, cardamon and cinnamon. There's also some lactose sweetness and subtle roasted coffee bean along with dark chocolate, oatmeal, caramel and toffee. Chai tea is very strong at first but this beer is pretty well balanced once the palate adjusts to the initial shock. The relatively high ABV is well masked making this unique beer much easier to drink than it should be.

Sampled on tap at the Stone OS tasting room. Rich brown color with a bit of head. Nose is very similar to chia tea - cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, etc. Taste also brings chia to mind but with some chocolate and without the bitterness. Is there such a thing as a chia mocha? If so I am guessing this is what it tastes like. Quite a bit of sweetness as well. Mouth feel is very creamy. One is interesting - don't know that I need more than that.
