Very Good
Delicious IPADelicious IPA
Notes: A citrusy IPA with Lemondrop & El Dorado hops
Crafted to reduce gluten
First Release: January 2015

While our beers are many and diverse, yet unified by overarching boldness, India pale ales are our undeniable bread and butter. The result is an intensely citrusy, beautifully bitter beer is worthy of the simple-yet-lordly title of Stone Delicious IPA. Lemondrop and El Dorado hops combine to bring on a magnificent lemon candy-like flavor that’s balanced by hop spice. It’s unlike anything we’ve tasted in nearly two decades of IPA experimentation, and another lupulin-laced creation we’re excited to introduce to hopheads everywhere.

LOOK: Pours a very hazy and very light orange with an all white head with good retention and side glass lace.
AROMA: Sour, lemon peel pine resin.
TASTE: Pine resin, quite sour to the point where the citrus notes take a back seat. Hop bitterness is strong. Very dank.
Didn't care for this one.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped for canning date as '05/16/21' and best by date of '09/16/21', so canned about five months ago. We will see (bought at a single).
A little cloudy, pale gold colored body. Three fingers of white head upon pouring, which retreats to a partial cap. Leaves some short strings of lacing.
Aroma is quite malty sweet, with some orange citrus hops.
Taste is quite hop spicy, and the lemon candy flavor is somewhat there. Less malt expression in the taste than in the nose. A bit of bitterness in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, with a dry finish. Good carbonation.
I get the gist of what the prime of this beer was, and based on that, the beer is kind of old school and resin enjoyable.

Honestly I did not like this beer at all it hits the palate okay at first but the Finish is a nasty skunky like you just took a drink of a stale Budweiser taste. I would not buy the beer again and really surprised at the high reviews it has.

I like stone logo & artwork on the can. The pour is golden yellow. The taste is lemon, lime, & tangerine. I recommend that you put back the gluten in the beer, like others have already stated on this page it's just an okay IPA. Oh well, at least it has a good dose of alcohol, I would not call this a delicious IPA. Cheers! B-

Clear, amber/gold appearance with an average size white head and decent lacing. Aroma of citrus playing off tropical fruit. Taste improves on the nose. While the citrus is still ever present, now a fuller, more bitter, resinous flavor moves in. Aftertaste provides plenty of spiciness. Seems more potent than the abv might suggest. Thought at first that this one was going to collapse into the abyss of mediocrity, but fortunately, it rises above the herd.

12oz beer poured into Duvel tulip. RVA 11/04/20, EJBY 03/04/21 printed on bottom of can. So presumably tha tmeans this is 6 months old and has negative 2 months of freshness left. Oh fuck.

Appearance - Can is dented and the label is applied upside down. Poured big offwhite head with a ton of stick and tufty pancake batter lacing. Hazy amber yellow body. 4.25

Smell - Thick honey, soy sauce and just something moderately bodied, sweet, refreshing, yet a little fishy. 3.75

Taste - A little soy saucy. Not sure if I should drink. Is this the gluten reduced nature, or poor packaging? Am I going to die from bad quality control, or is this just how organic nonsense tastes? Kind of confused, scared, bewildered, yet intrigued. 3

Mouthfeel - Medium to heavy bodied. Weird metallic, astringency in the finish but it's so thick any syrupy you aren't sure if it's just how it's supposed to be. 3

Overall - Confusing. And a little offputting for obvious reasons. Better not give me botulism. 2.75

355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.7%. Gluten free. Brewed with Lemondrop and El Dorado hops. Golden colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Moderate aroma of grapefruit, pine and spruce. The flavour is mid between dry and sweet, with citrus (incl. grapefruit) and a resinous bitter finish.

Amber color on the pour with bubbles just sticking to the side of the glass. Finger of bone colored head.

Nose is bitter and sweet. Getting lemon peel and an orange presence. A bit of pine. Lots of pith smell from various citrus fruits. And also a touch of dankness.

Taste is bitter and fruity. Lots of lemon and orange rind going on. Some kind of tropical fruit thing hinting around the palate as well. Lots of lemon mixed with pine. Reminds me on the taste of the smell you get from lemon scented pine sol cleaner.

Mouth is medium with a lingering bitterness. Feeling the alcohol warming as well. A very big bold punch to the mouth.

Stone brewing does a lot of IPA's so it is surprising to find another IPA in their line up. Not really. I find myself gravitating towards the scorpion bowl IPA yet this one is another good IPA from folks who know how to make an IPA.
