A citrusy IPA with Lemondrop & El Dorado hops
Crafted to reduce gluten
First Release: January 2015

While our beers are many and diverse, yet unified by overarching boldness, India pale ales are our undeniable bread and butter. The result is an intensely citrusy, beautifully bitter beer is worthy of the simple-yet-lordly title of Stone Delicious IPA. Lemondrop and El Dorado hops combine to bring on a magnificent lemon candy-like flavor that’s balanced by hop spice. It’s unlike anything we’ve tasted in nearly two decades of IPA experimentation, and another lupulin-laced creation we’re excited to introduce to hopheads everywhere.

Appearance: Pours with the slightest chill haze, the color of gold; on top of the liquid is a finger's worth of foam; decent stickage and shards of lacing linger

Smell: Lemon and pear tones

Taste: Pear forward, with the lemon and cantaloupe tones building, through the middle; bitterness builds, after the swallow, with more citrus intensity; in the finish, all that is left is the bitterness

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: It is nice to have a Stone IPA without a sticky malt bill; still, I am not so crazy about the way the hops play out here; the beginning is auspicious but the end is rather one-dimensional

Stone’s answer to the “let’s use new hops without skimping on bitterness”. A great beer with a balance of sweetness, musky stone fruit, and dankness. Do I detect notes of baked apple and aged gouda? A really interesting beer. Refreshing and somewhat smashable with its 7.7 ABV completely hidden.

Slightly hazy, nice white head recedes to cap, not lacy; Good flavor, tasty. Good mouthfeel; Not spectacular but pretty good, as tasty as any other Stone beer l’ve tried.

Look: It pours golden and clear with an off white head. Head retention is very good.

Aroma: It has citrus aromas with lemon. There are some light pine and floral apects in the background.

Taste: It has citrus flavors with pine and some mint. There are also some lemon elements.

Feel: It has a medium body with moderate bitterness in the finish.

Overall, decent hop flavors with a blank malt slate to enhance the hops.

Pours a clear medium amber color with a medium sized white head.

Tastes of citrus, fruit, and pine, with a serious bitterness.

Very good!

A- Great fluffy head, not a drop of haziness to be found which is refreshing. The color, however, is a bit off putting as without the enormous head this could easily be mistaken for an AAL. Pee color

S- lots and lots of citrus, pine, lightly buttered bread

T-This is really good. Citrus hits up first but then some pine creeps in, then the bitterness hits the tongue. It’s definitely got WCIPA vibes and I’m digging it. A bit of light grass too

M- medium bodied with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste

O- This is a very, very solid, if unremarkable beer. It’s not going to be a six pack I’ll keep in my fridge constantly stocked but one I’ll come back to

I always found this a little one-dimensionally lemony. Not sure if all my cans have been less than fresh (unreadable expiration date on bottom of cans) or if I just don't like the lemon angle a whole lot. With that said it's perfectly drinkable.

Pours a slightly turbid orange gold with lots of head and la ing. Smells like tropical, citrus hops. A nice hop punch in the face greets you with the first sip, citrus and tropical flavors abound with a sturdy malt backbone, and some grain and caramel. This is a solid IPA and would gladly drink again, cheers!
