A bittersweet, creamy, coffee-laced stout
First Release: August 2014
From imperial stouts to IPAs, we’ve discovered the tantalizingly roasty lift that comes from adding coffee beans to just about any kind of beer. This English-style milk stout, originally a limited-edition offering at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station, proved the perfect foil for beans from San Diego-based Ryan Bros Coffee. The bitterness of the coffee is balanced out brilliantly by the milk sugar we used to add a touch of sweetness and creaminess to the stout’s smooth, easy-drinking texture. Cheers to the coalescence of two highly artisanal (and delectable) mediums.

Poured into a wine glass from a wine glass
A - Deep opaque dark brown/black with a half finger tan head and little to no lacing
S - rich acidic coffee, deep rich dark chocolate, slight milk chocolate, vanilla tobacco, roasted and toasted everything including grains, malts and earth. Slight pine hop, huge baking yeast note, slight vanilla, slight over ripe cherry and old red wine barrels.
T - wow that coffee jumps out right away and it is very, very well done. roasted malts, very earthy roasted grains, bread yeast, brown/green earthy hops, terroir, sugar, lots of charred wood, pipe tobacco, vanilla, very creamy, bitter sweet dark chocolate, a slight star anise and has a slightly sour funk
M - medium plus body, well balanced, nice complexity, medium plus acidity, medium carbonation and a dark chocolate bittersweet coffee bomb from beginning to end.
D/O - Great stout, very nicely done. Starts and finishes beautifully, good with almost any food, anytime of year and any weather. May age but, will most likely loose all of it's character if aged to long. If you like coffee stouts with a rare creamy richness you'll enjoy this one.
Final thoughts - $10 a six pack isn't bad at all. The 5.5% abv makes great for a tailgate or a lone day of whatever relaxing activity. Stone does stouts and IPA's so well and this one is no exception.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Pitch black colour, small beige head. Moderate aroma of chocolate and mild coffee. Slightly sweet roasty flavour, distinct notes of coffee, also notes of lactose, chocolate, liquorice and wood. Moderate bittering hops in the finish.

De XXXII. Embotellada 26/12/2015. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 6. La lactosa no la encuentro, el cafe agradable pero demasiado suave, y la carbonatacion algo alta. Le falta intensidad en sabores. Quizas fresca mejore bastante

Bottled on date is there. Wow! this does taste like a cup of coffee with a splash of milk added to it. This would be a great pairing with some breakfast food like bacon, eggs, & toast. Stone Brewing you have done it again.Cheers! A-
