Formerly Stone Xocoveza For The Holidays & The New Year

Our chocolaty, winter-spiced mocha stout is back. This insanely delicious take on Mexican hot chocolate is crafted with cocoa, coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. First brewed in 2014 with San Diego homebrewer Chris Banker after his recipe was named the winner of our annual homebrew competition, it quickly became a cross-country sensation as craft beer media and fans cheered for Stone Xocoveza…and clamored for more. We too loved this beer, so of course we caroled ¡Claro que sí!

Now gifted with a new name, Stone Xocoveza for the Holidays & the New Year has joined our eminent lineup of special releases. We’re releasing it just in time for that time of the year when the joyous spirit of giving is in the air and good behavior is generously rewarded.

Wow. I've never nosed a beer anything like this. Amazing aromas - we've got some intense Mexican hot cocoa going on here, massive desert tones, a chocolate factory happening in my glass. Rounding this out are

The pour is a dark black with a decent tan head.

On the palate, the sensation of Mexican hot chocolate continues. Unique spices make this quite the special concoction.

Mouthfeel has a bit of fizziness, and a long lasting chocolate finish stays on the tongue.

An amazing brew, not to be missed. I'm tempted to throw some Kahlua in here...but will restrain myself.

Incredible beer. A lot of dark chocolate, perfect dose of cinnamon and spices. Great balance between the chocolate & coffee. For 8.1% it's extremely smooth and I can just drink the bottle in 10 mins, although after first few sips I'd rather take it slow and wait till it warms up and brings those spices and flavors up. When it gets really warm I swear I can smell some oakiness. It doesn't have the hot/spicy kick at the end as Hunahpu's...

I hope a huge batch of it already sits in some nice bourbon barrels. That could become the best stout ever :)
