A drinkable beer but ultimately too far out of line with pale ale standards. Color too light. Thin mouthfeel. Needs more malt to balance. Tangerine notes to hop aroma.

April 9th, 2015 - This auburn brew smells like it just came off the brewhouse floor and siphoned directly into my glass in just the last few minutes. Though there's a touch of skunk in the character, the overall aroma is fresh with some broiled brussel sprouts and a dank, vegetal happiness, lightened only by a touch of lemon citrus. On the tongue the palate is fuzzy, but also a little flat and on the thinner side. The flavor is also less intense than I'd like, in spite of a long, lemony hoppy aftertaste. The first part of the sip is a bit plain with some flattish grapefruit notes which are unexciting. Combined with a meek mouthfeel, this is a beer that I'm quick to move from.

A: Hoppy with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, melon, light bubblegum and pine.

A: Milky yellow, thin, uniform white head that has solid retention in the glass.

T: Tropical fruit, citrus, slightly danky and pine resin with a mild hop bitterness on the finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a juicy mouth-feel.

O: Very tasty; the beer has a great fragrant aroma, solid flavor and nice body. Very easy to drink!

Drinking one now at Stone Brewing liberty station garden bar. Yellow amber color with nice head. Beautiful lace. Grapefruit mild hop forward beer. Very good beer.

I had this on draft at the Stone Store in Pasadena. I'm typing this from memory so I won't go in depth in each category, but it was a very good Pale Ale, which if I had to choose is my least favorite style of beer. Resinous, sticky feel with heavy lacing. Beautiful almost opaque mild yellow color with a good amount of sediment. Strong notes of grapefruit and citrus in the smell with a nice subtle hoppiness. What struck me, however, was that the flavor profile was almost the opposite of the smell. Very strong notes of pine and hops but with a subtle yet necessary offset of grapefruit. Really enjoyed this one, highly recommended!

Enjoyed when I got off the plane at the San Diego airport. I'd fly more often is this was near Logan. This Liberty Station lace is amazing - and the beer....yeesh. Bartender said this Liberty Buoy was the current favorite with limited release - pours a clearish yellow Amber with a nice white head. Hop forward but has a nice citrus aftertaste - damn, this is so good. Fresh beer ....and fresh Stone beer is so amazing. Great stuff. If you notice 4 more beers reviewed in the next 2 hours it may not be pretty

On tap at wades wine 4-18-15

Amber beer with a nice white head. Smells of Amber hops and malt. Taste is hope forward, citrus followed be malt and a clean finish.

Really an excellent approachable beer. One of those beers you could drink all day long.

Really well done.
