The pour is like a glass of orange juice with pulp - not as murky, but very orange, very hazy, and loads of floating particulate with a light tan head (I’ve never had a glass of OJ with a tan head, BTW).

Pineapple is really forward on the nose, with oranges and tropical fruits falling in line behind. The taste has a significant bitterness at first, but the pineapple helps cut that a bit, which is welcome, as are the orange and mango flavors I’m picking up.

Another very nice IPA by a brewery that helped define the style here in the states.

Picked up at my next door place, which has already seemed to get better beer in the 11 months I’ve lived here. Had seen it two days earlier when I started my Malt Liquor experiment as I sheepishly ignored all the craft beer. Was looking forward to this one as the main description on the can read, “Unfiltered India Pale Ale w/ Juicy Pineapple & Mandarin Orange.” Not reading the back of the can because it’s always much ado about nothing. Also saw on their webpage that hops were Mosaic, Loral and Mandarina Bavaria. Love Mosaic, no idea what Loral is and getting into Mandarina Bavaria. Was looking forward to it.

Poured a gold hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy foamy head. Lots of slow-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Wow, juicy pineapple and mandarin orange is right for the smell. Also orange blossom, tangerine, mango, floral, hints of blood orange, guava, papaya and a touch of spice. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste followed the nose for the most part. Very juicy, particularly juicy orange, pineapple, mango, guava, papaya, floral, tangerine, grassy notes and herbal. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)

This was a pretty good beer overall. I think I overrated it just a tad, but it was (at least close to) outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

12 oz can, canned on 9/7/17. Pours hazy golden orange with some small floaties and a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - a little tropical fruit and some sulfur.

The flavor is sweet sugary tropical fruits and mild pineapple with a bitter resiny hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a nicely balanced sweet fruity hoppy IPA.

The tropical, citrusy flavors of orange, mango, and pineapple flow through very nicely, though this is a tad too focused on the fruits and not enough on the bitter hoppiness that can be detected in the background.

12 oz can with brewed on (9/03/17) and best before (1/05/18) dating....nice consumer info, I wish all breweries took the time to share so much info.

Pours with a bit more then a moderate haze, under a large and lasting light khaki cap, leaving all sorts of frothy lacing.

Sniff here is on the sweet side, with peppermint and a hint of tropical fruit (lime)

On the palate its more tropical ripe fruits, melon, mango, pineapple, soft lime....delicious...go get some, hopefully this will be in wide production and distribution...cuz...its...GOOOD

Canned 9/28/17 poured into shaker pint.

Nice yellow-golden body, lots of fine particulate, with a nice lasting half finger of slight off white head. Great lacing along the glass.
Smell is a lot like the tangerine express ipa but more of an artificial fruit drink essence. Decent amount of citrusy and fruity hops.
Taste is mildly hoppy, good amount of citrus zest and sweetness, kind of finishes with a light malty sweetness and, unfortunately, a bit of an artificial fruity essence.
Mouthfeel is great - pretty silky and creamy and a nice medium lasting body.
I would consider getting this again but I think I enjoy the hoppier and sharper flavors of their best by and other ipa series.

Light copper to straw yellow with lots of minuscule floaties. There's a three quarter inch head of frothy off white on top. The nose is pineapple forward with some mango and peach in the mix. I'm tasting plenty of pineapple and some faint pear. The mouth is sticky and lightly chewy.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Stone can glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy unfiltered golden orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A very juicy hop forward aroma with a scent of tropical fruits and pine. Upfront scent of citrus hops with some grapefruit, orange peel, passion fruit, tangerine, guava, lemon, and pineapple. Hints of pine resin and floral hops. Malt hints of grains and cracker with some yeast. A very good juicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and piney hop driven taste with notes of tropical fruit and pine. Big juicy citrus hop notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, tangerine, passion fruit, guava, and lemon along with pineapple. Earthy hop notes of pine resin. Light malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish.

Overall: Another really good West Coast IPA from Stone. Big tropical fruit flavors.

12oz can with a 1/26/2018 best by date stamp.
This delicious IPA somehow stays very drinkable even with a strong flavor and moderately high bitterness. An excellent fruity-hoppy mix with balance and depth.
Smooth, medium-full body and near medium carbonation.

Can beer, but great taste/flavor. Unfiltered beers are my preference since I used to brew all my beer in Texas. The add of orange and pineapple is not too much front and still has a nice Stone IPA taste. I will get this whenever offered.

Been waiting to try this new limited release!

Pours a really nice opaque sunset orange color. Pretty thin, quickly dissipating foam head.

The aromas are pretty subtle, as this is straight from the fridge and still too cold. But getting grapefruit on the nose, subtle pine. Hints of pineapple and malt.

Definitely getting that ‘Stone’ unfiltered quality of pronounced citrus and hop bitterness together but with a malt backbone to even the score, similar to Ghost Hammer.

Crisp but with a little more body to it than expected. Very drinkable.

Overall this was really good. Not quite as tropical as advertised, but the citrus was clear and I found that pineapple on the nose as well. Sublt wait pronounced hops, citrus bitterness, and a malty presence to finish.
