Pours crystal clear deep gold/pale amber producing 3+ fingers of lasting, soap bubble frothy, glowing white head that leaves clumpy weaths and wisps of lace above a thin surface cap and dense, thick collar. Abundant effervescence rises from the bottom of the glass. Aroma is pungent grapefruit pith, pine & floral notes, green/under-ripe nectarine/peach with light pineapple and leafy/earthy dank hints; subdued by the hoppiness honey, Graham Cracker and caramel lies beneath. The flavor is hugely hoppy! Oily/resinous hop notes of pine, orange zests, pineapple, green peach, melon rind, spice; peppery & pungent with a low level darkness. Malts provide honey, caramel and cane syrup notes. Alcohol spice/bitterness in the mouth is prominent otherwise alcohol is well hidden in both the nose in the mouth. Hop bite & bitterness from start into aftertaste where the bitterness lingers. Earthy dank and leafy dark tea hints in the finish. This brew is nicely bitter, but sweet for a Stone brew, with complex hoppiness that becomes even more so as the brew warms. Mouthfeel exhibits medium-high body with high carbonation. I don't drink enough champagne to quantify it's Brut like character but it seesaws between juicy and dry, is tongue coating, prickly, pungent, & mildly astringent. My first example of the style.

On tap at Food Shack. Mostly clear golden orange. Smells of pineapple, fruity hops, booze, and a little bit of plasticky yeast. Tastes of caramel maltiness that lends sweetness and dries out quickly. Big fruity hop flavor. Pineapple and a little citrus. Back end is yeast bitterness and a touch of the plasticky flavor from the nose. It's good. Delivers the flavor profile of an old school DIPA with less sugar. The trade off is a hint of yeast flavor.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass.
L---Mostly clear, but not crystal clear. Rich, dark golden color. Nice, fluffy cap with good retention and ok lacing.
S---Strong citrus (grapefruit & orange) aroma. Some biscuity/bready notes give it a malty backbone as well.
T---Grapefruit and orange follow through from the nose and dominate the taste. Very full of citrus. Like, a LOT of citrus.
F---Juicier than I was expecting from a brut IPA. There is a tinge of dryness in the finish, but that impression may be just because I'm looking for it.
O---I did not in fact enjoy this on by 01/01/19. That may play into my rating. But it was still a really good IPA. I just didn't get any of the Brut characteristics that I've gotten from other Brut IPAs.

this was better as it was. The dryness takes away from this beer IMHO.
