Poured from 500 ml bottle. 2017 vintage

A: Very dark brown tending towards black. Smallish one finger mocha head that settles quickly with little to no lacing.

S: Bourbon, chocolate fudge, tobacco, charred oak, and vanilla.

T: Rich dark chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla with nice barrel notes. A subtle sweetness that comes off like honey or molasses.

M: Full bodied with a syrup like quality. Finish is very dry with prominent alcohol heat.

O: Excellent stout. My only complaint is the price. At 500 ml, this should be $10 not $19.

The look and smell is unreal. Dark as night with smells of Hershey syrup with tastes of fudgey bourbon. Delicious!

This is the one without coffee right? That was Mikhail's Odd I believe. This one pours black, thin brown head, 1/4". Aroma was a predictable mixture of roasted malt, bourbon and wood.

Taste, I can call it predictable, but that is a good thing when you're talking about a Stone RIS bourbon barrel aged. Hits the familiar bourbon and mild roasted malt notes, not fudgy, but there is a dry chocolate malt presence to it that hides the alcohol nicely. Caramel and sweetened toffee continue to push the mouth feel in a pleasant direction. The barrel does a good job at hiding any dark fruit bitterness from the base beer (that was never huge on those notes anyways).

A little bit of tobacco and leather on the back end with a dallop of vanilla to further smooth it all out are nice touches as well.

2014 Vintage
500ml bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger dark brown creamy head that reduces to just a ring around the edge of the glass

S- sufficient but mellow bourbon barrel on the nose up front, complimented by notes of tobacco, caramel, toffee, sweet cherry, fig, raisin, molasses, leather and chocolate. The aging seems to have melded all of the aromas harmoniously

T- lots of bourbon up front with plenty of oak & vanilla. Mid-palate brings out bold roasted malt that gives notes of chocolate, molasses, coffee, fig, prune and caramel. The finish gives some earthy tobacco notes, as well as more bourbon

M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety, warming finish

O- a few years of aging seems to have meshed all of the flavors well, still plenty of bourbon and just enough alcohol warmth

Long time want here finally acquired. 2017 bottle. Biggest pain in the ass cork ever.

L - teku pour. Thin coming out of the bottle. But in the glass it looks just ike bcbs in color and head. Dark brown that is with leather head.

S - Incredible. Decadently dark fruit and bourbon. Raisens and toffee. Creme Brule like sweetness really reminiscent of bcbs here as welll.

T - I really hate to keep comparing this to bcbs but it's so similiar, though maybe even sweeter if that's possible? Loaded with dark fruit, bourbon and tobacco. This is easily one of the best beers I've ever had.

M - much bigger than it looked out of the bottle. Sits on your palate for days with a clinging oily sugar coating.

O - I'm pretty much blown away.

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with dark brown head that fades quickly. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee, slight bourbon. Taste is moderate bitterness with a nice sweet malt backbone. Well balanced and complex. Flavors of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, maple syrup. Excellent imperial stout. Definitely one of best.
