Pours a pitch black color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is very good. Good java aroma. A little hoppy. More of a bitter licotice taste. Mild java. Medium to heavy bodied with mild carbonation.

Bottle-aged for 3 years at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Bottling Date: 04/11/2016. Enjoyed on 01/16/2020
Appearance:
Pours an intense ebony that's almost black. A color I'd imagine the trees of Germany's Black Forest to appear at night. Foams up a respectable mocha head that slowly fades and laces like artwork.
Bouquet:
Lightly toasted malts, bourbon-kissed black cherries, espresso, oak firewood, and a touch of unsweetened chocolate.
Taste:
Deeply malty with an indulgent complex of supporting flavors: brûléed cream, roasted coffee beans, baker's chocolate, bourbon soaked cherries, and lashings of smokey, woodsy dryness. Concludes with a mellow finish that's soft as satin.
Feel:
A rich, velvety, medium body that lingers with serene creaminess.
Overall:
Aging really brings forth the desirable characteristics of Stone's 6th Anniversary Porter. Astonishingly complex! The best of their anniversary series to-date, in my opinion. It's a real shame this doesn't exist anymore, I will miss it dearly when my little collection runs out.

Dark appearance with significant head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a mild malt. Taste is a bitter malt that is a little on the watery side. Not my favorite.

Black. Texture is hardened water but has good weight. Brown hue. Smell and taste are good. Good yeast presence adds a honey sweet. Moderate smokey roast. Light chocolate. Molasses bitterness.
Medium body. Biting carbonation.
Go for it.

It's a very dark brown, clear with a finger of creamy tan head. It has great retention and leaves big swathes of tight sticky head. The aroma is rich malts, with some chocolate and coffee and a hint of earth. The taste is similar with just and hint of roasted malts. The body is rich and smooth, with a silky finish.
