Black. Texture is hardened water but has good weight. Brown hue. Smell and taste are good. Good yeast presence adds a honey sweet. Moderate smokey roast. Light chocolate. Molasses bitterness.

Medium body. Biting carbonation.

Go for it.

Pours a pitch black color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is very good. Good java aroma. A little hoppy. More of a bitter licotice taste. Mild java. Medium to heavy bodied with mild carbonation.

It's a very dark brown, clear with a finger of creamy tan head. It has great retention and leaves big swathes of tight sticky head. The aroma is rich malts, with some chocolate and coffee and a hint of earth. The taste is similar with just and hint of roasted malts. The body is rich and smooth, with a silky finish.

Pours an effervescent mahogany, with a sliver of mocha colored head. Above average head retention & lacing

S: Dark fruit, roasty, some dark cherry

T: Follows the nose, a little char as well, plus dryness. Roasty, smokey & dryness; astringent, some Baker's chocolate as well, woody hops as well, once warm. Finishes woody, smokey, dry & just a whisper of coffee

MF: Light/medium body, firm carbonation, smooths out as this warms

Wanted to like this more, to many detractors in this one to rate this any higher, worth a try for sure

Lovely beer! Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Beautiful black-brown color with great head and lacing. The smell is rich chocolate and berry, carries over to the taste. Nutty and earthy, smooth feel. Very enjoyable!

Dark brown body, generous light tan head. Floral hops aroma, not very strong. Very unusual flavor, I've never had a hoppy stout before. Hop, pepper & other spices initially followed by a salty chocolate!/coffee bitter finish. I like it. Excellent.

On tap at Knickerbockers in Altoona Pa

Arrives in a pint glass thick black with an oatmeal colored head. Leaves excellent lacing

Surprisingly, there was not much on the nose at all, except faint whiff of malt.

However, the taste was excellent. Solid malt background, alcohol well hidden, and a nice peppery finish.

Mouth was medium-full.

Overall, an extremely tasty take on a Baltic Porter.
