Pours a very dark brown with a maroon tint around the edges when held up to light. Has a thin, creamy, tan head with no carbonation.
Smells of chocolate and malt, and a slight spice.
A big spice bite on this porter. The chocolate malt comes up nice, and a slight black licorice as it fades. Very light on the coffee. A good porter that is unique...expect nothing less from Stone.

Not quite black with a reddish tint. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, dirt, some hops. Tastes of coffee, roast, roast, roast, cocoa, dirt, some booze. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Wtf happened? Somebody left the coffee pot on.

Rating reflects the 2016 re-brew, bottled. Consumed on May 2, 2016, poured into a tulip glass.

All was well and as it should have been save for the taste, which was slightly marred by a metallic, coppery note.

Non-essential.

Poured a black body with two-finger khaki head that slowly died. Aroma is mostly roasted malts with hints of bitter chocolate and coffee. Heavy bodied, slightly dry, the beer has a roasted malt, almost toasted, and grainy, slightly bitter hop body with bits of coffee, dark fruits, chocolate and vanilla mixed in with a dry finish.
