12 fl oz bottle served in a snifter, reviewed live:

A - Pours a transparent copper color with a 1.5 finger head of decent creaminess. Retention and lacing are both very good.

S - Resinous pine, citrus, caramel, and and toasted malt. Smells very fresh and surprisingly appealing.

T - Extremely well balanced. Caramel and pale malt sweetly balance the grassy, earthy, pine character of the hops. It's even got some yeasty qualities that round the beer out nicely. It's delicate, and I'm having it.

M - Light to medium bodied, carbonated well, and smooth on the finish. Suits the flavors nicely, but not necessarily tailored to them.

D - Well built, well balanced, and it's the best Stone brew I've had.

Picked up a 6 pack of the Levitation, this is one of Stone's beers I really hadn't paid attention to. I decided the time had come.

Poured a dark copper color, thick foamy off-white head. Moderate carbonation. Nice lacing.

Nice malt smell. Light flowery hop scent.

Very smooth, nice sweet malt flavor. Great finish, lightly hopped and perfect bitterness with a taste of tea remain on the palate.

Very balanced and delicious, I could drink a bunch of these. Great session beer.

Cheers!

A: Poured into a SA perfect pint glass with a four finger head (maybe I poured poorly?). A nice rocky, off white foam for the head sticks around for a while before revealing a nice semi-dark amber color that makes of the body of the brew.

S: A nice blend of hops, yeast, bready malts, and citrus. I'm picking up mostly grapefruit but maybe a bit of lime and lemon.

T: Overall light on the taste but there are notes of citrus, malts, and of course hops.

M: Mouthfeel is somewhat light, definitely some carbonation going on, but overall light-feeling on the tongue.

O: Overall, pretty good. I feel that it may be a little 'watery' in terms of mouthfeel, but quite good other than that. The taste is a little light, but it's still pretty good.

A: Dark amber brown. About as dark as it gets for an amber. About a finger of white head. Slow to recede.

S: Nice caramel smell. Accented with floral and piney hops.

T: Sweet caramel is, for me, the dominate flavor. The floral and pine add a zesty flavor that's pretty enjoyable.

M: Not a lot to say about this. Kind a of thin really.

D: Pretty high. Nice taste and low ABV make this go down pretty easy.

A: Deep amber body with a creamy tan head that leaves behind excellent lacing.
S: Caramel roasted malt, citrus and floral nose.
T: Flavors of caramel malt & clean dry hoppy lightly bitter finish.
M: Smooth, dry and balanced.
O: A very sessionable brew that is easily drinkable yet flavorful.

Pours a deep rusty-amber with an unfiltered haze, a decent, if thin tan foam, some sticky lacing. Aroma is a plethora of roasted malt, fresh, chewy sourdough bread – and, HOPS!! This is from Stone, remember. Despite the 4.4%, this is not a truncated Arrogant Bastard, in that it has almost none of the chocolate and coffee spikes that punctuate that ambrosial brew. Pine resin, oak, and citrus hops greet you initially, followed by a solid middle that I found a little lacking in the malt promised by the aroma. It is not sweet, but rather bitter. The carbonation is just right, and the finish is nicely dry and speaks of roasted grain. All in all a great session beer.

Pours a light amber with nice, white head.

Smells of bread and biscuit malt.

Tastes like said malt smell and some hops in the finish that really complement the malts.

It is a bit thin, but understandable given the lower abv and sessionable nature of the beer.

This is a perfectly find and well crafted beer. I understand the idea behind the brew, I just don't find the flavor all that great.

This is a solid beer. Its worthy to be in my fridge.

Bottle poured into mug, two and a half finger head.

S: Hops, malt, bready yeasts, and peppers

T: Hop bitterness was pronounced throughout the beer. At first I thought this was an IPA, but then I was corrected after reading the bottle more closely. Vanilla, piney notes, and barley provided a strong intermediate feel. The finish was back to the bitterness mentioned earlier.

M: Fulfilling and well-balanced

Overall this is worth trying.
