Brewed by:
Stone Brewing
California, United States

Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 10.80%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

This pours out a hazy golden orange color with a dense layer of foam and excellent lacing. It's sitting about a foot away from me and the aroma is wonderful from here. Picking it up and sniffing, delicious notes of fruity citrus and fresh pine resin. Flavor is bracingly bitter, but backed by a big maltiness. Loads of hop flavor last through the drink and linger after the dry finish.

22oz bottle dated 6/19/14 poured into dogfish IPA glass

Pours oily and resinisis. Smells of deep pine and tropical fruit. Huge hop and pine on the first sip followed by a nice bitterness. Could use a touch more carbonation to cleanse the pallet from the hop resin. A definite tounge scrapper.

Overall a high 4.25 borderline 4.5. Look forward to this every summer and tough to beat this for $8.99 bomber. One of Stone's best.
