You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Enjoy by 4.20.15

Aroma: Fresh cut grass, lemon, and grapefruit quickly fill the nose.

Appearance: Cloudy amber pour with a low sticky white head. Head retention is good. Appears still in the glass.

Flavor: Big punchy bitterness up front. Flavors include big lemon, grapefruit, and melon all hit hard. No malty sweetness at all. There is some sweetness to it but more like you'd get from grapefruit or orange juice. Balance is firmly bitter. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is a powdery lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high carbonation. No heat, astringency, or oiliness.

Overall impression: Big, bad, and bitter. Stone delivers and is worthy of the hype. Glad I tried it. Worth the special treat.

Pours amber, smells boozy with notes of grapefruit, citrus, sweet malts and hops. Tastes of dank bitter hops, and an aftertaste that hints back at the sweet citrus and bread. The hops are the defining characteristic. This is a bold IPA to be sure. Really an awesome imperial that lives up to the hype. I'll be looking for another sixer of this at the next release.

L (4.25) - Lovely orange color and light fluffy head. Not crystal clear, but about right for a IIPA.
S (4.5) - Real nice floral aromas. I little bit of citrus, but mostly floral
T (4.5) - Really great taste. Very hoppy at the front, but not bitter at the end. More of the floral hop taste (like the smell) but a little pine, citrus, grapefruit, etc.
F (4.25) - Good mouthfeel. A little bit of carbonation bite, but quite drinkable.
O (4.5) - I'd never had this one, and wasn't necessarily going to buy it. But I got a bomber of it . . . Wow! I'm really glad I did. I really don't have many complaints. Good drinkable beer with great flavor. I will buy more.

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter glass. 9.4% abv. 4/20/15 Version

Appearance- Pours a bright amber. Very clear. Two finger head and much effervesence below the head.

Smell- Rich citrus qualities. Orange, mango and pineapple. The sweet caramel smell is there but takes a backseat to the citrus aromas.

Taste- Sweet caramel malt, slightly toasted, fades fast into a citrus kick with loads of grapefruit and plenty of pine like flavor as well. Finishes very clean and dry with a lasting bitterness.

Mouthfeel- Medium-heavy in body with active carbonation. Very smooth and crisp.

Overall- Keyword here is fresh! The flavor profile goes through fast, from malt tones to bitter finish. Freshness definitely adds to the smoothness of this beer. Easy drinking, and the abv is well hidden. Great concept by Stone, and the quality is more than there. Excellent 2x!

Enjoy by 10.31.15
Poured into tulip from 12 oz bottle. Finger of head. very clear, golden straw like color. Smells very floral. Like I buried my face into a pile of whole cone hops. No malts, sweetness or booze. Just hops, yet not overwhelming hops. Taste, well, smooth. Great citrus, floral, piney hops. Slight malt sweetness, but mostly hops. Not super bitter though. I'd say just anout perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel is nice; smooth, refreshing, bubbly, slightylh creamy, but not sticky or syrupy. Slight earthy aftertaste, but in a good way. Overall an amazing beer. Cant even tell its 9+ abv. Taste like a 7%. Very smooth, floral hop note, with an amazing hop nose. highly recommend.
