You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

22 ounce bottle -> snifter

A - pours up a cloudy medium gold at first, eventually clearing, with a small white head, not much in the way of retention or lacing.

S - lemon, oranges, mangos, grass, bread

T - sweet caramel malt followed by a citrusy hop finish. There is a slight warming at the end, but by and large the alcohol is well hidden for a beer this big.

M - good carbonation, medium thick, very slight aftertaste

O - what's not to love!!!

After searching many places I was able to land 3 bottles!!

Pours out a nice bright and clear yellow/orange with a 1 finger white and fluffy head.

The aroma is full of fresh hops: mango, peach, orange, papaya and grapefruit tropical fruit notes, fresh grassy and floral notes too.

The taste is also intensely hoppy and fresh! A lot of the sweeter tropical fruit notes are up front: mango, peach, grapefruit, papaya, orange along with a nice amount of floral and grassy hop notes. There is a slight malt backbone, but not much. You can't taste or smell the alcohol at all.

The mouthfeel is pretty thin, but the mouthfeel is pretty creamy. Another great beer from Stone! I really like the idea behind this beer and pick it up if you still can!

05.17.13 Enjoy By

A - Pours a bright golden hay in color with borderline amber hues. Has a frothy bright white one finger head with big bubbles. Not much retention but good lacing.

S - Grapefruit juices, lingering pineapple with a touch of pine hops.

T - The citrus notes in the smell along with the bready malts balance wonderfully. There is pine notes on the end. Just hoppy through and through, from beginning to end.

M - Very drinkable... It's crazy how it's not overly malted or sticky at all. Just a medium bodied beer with great carbonation that is scarey easy to drink!

O - Impressed... Props to Stone. I can't figure out if I like this or the Ruination 10th Anni better.

Very solid DIPA. Poured golden with good head and heavy hop aromas.

Nice clear orange, yellow color. Head is two-fingered and composed of white foam. Lacing is quite thin and sparse. Thin.

Scent has a mild sewer gas smell...yum... Lots of enjoyable simcoe hops, nothing more then heavy, piney, citrus. near typical Stone.

Thin, watery, citrus flavors. No sticky resinous hops that the hype/label would lead you to believe. Booze is well hidden with bitter-sweetness. Carbonation is near perfect at a medium-low level.

A good brew, but was not worthy of the hype it received.. Seemed to fall apart, perhaps it should have been called "enjoy by 10.09.12". That way I would have had three days to have drank it. Ha. Not sure if it's worth the $8/22oz

4.20.15

Clear straw with an orange hue and a huge white head. Pine resin, some citrus and a smack of mango in the aroma, which also carry over to the taste. Decently bitter -- but not as devastatingly dank as one might hope. A slight creaminess to the mouthfeel, and a small but noticeable alcohol punch. This is a good beer, but the bar for great DIPAs is so high these days, it just doesn't measure up.

One of my favorite Enjoy Bys. Diverse hop profiles.

Poured a light golden color in a Spiegelau glass with a 4 finger head.
Excellent head retention. The head lasts few minutes.

Wonderfully floral bouquet. Spice.

Very carbonated, spicy.

Grape, citrus taste. Before warming, the taste is dominated by hoppy spiciness.
Grape and citrus, and a smoother MF come into play with warming. Spicy hoppy finish.

Overall, an excellent excellent+ beer.
