You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

clean golden yellow pour with 2 fingers of head (great retention).
smells of fresh grassy/floral hops, pine, grapefruit, honey.
very sweet taste up front with a spicy hop character, honey like sweetness as a backdrop with a grapefruit citrus taste. earth notes of pine and i honestly am getting a sweet honey overload on this beer - it's delicious.
medium body, nicely carbonated - creamy on the lips, alcohol warmth with a spicy bite.

this is a fantastic ipa by stone. this, along with ruination 10 are their 2 top ipa's in my opinion. fascinating that they werre released pretty much back to back... puts the 16th ipa to shame.

A: A very nice golden orange, with a two finger off white head that stays for a bit, a nice lacing around the glass as you sip this one.

S : A great nose on this brew, lots of citrus and pineapple, and breadyness as well, very tropical smell, and slight hints of alcohol as well.

T: This one was bitter for me, but tasted just like the nose, the hops are so fresh on this one, any IPA drinker will definitely enjoy this brew. Great floral notes and slight hints of alcohol.

M : Medium bodied and perfect amount of carbonation for an IPA.

O: this was a great IPA, Stone is amazing, thank you for another great beer!

Pours a clear, soft orange color, with a 2 finger of white head. Left lots of lace.

The aroma is Floral and fruity, citrus and tropical fruits. Some mango and pineapple. Not much in the way of malts, but that's probably intentional.

Lots of tropical fruits, pineapple, orange, lemon zest, slight bready malts, touches of pine too.

The feel is upper medium, slightly crisp with a good, not-overbearing feel to it.

I'd say this is a super successful IPA. I love the premise and assurance that you will be getting awesomeness. Bravo

22 oz bottle, thanks Richard.

Pours a light, clear golden amber with a finger of white head that fades to a thin collar and dots of lace. Aroma smells like Stone beer with Nelson and floral hops, citrus and earthy bitterness, lingering herbal notes. Flavor is more bitter than expected, strong malty body, sugar and chewy with resiny citrus bitterness in the finish. Medium thick and chewy, well carbonated. A solid Stone IPA, so...

Bottle to Bruery tulip.

A - Slightly hazy medium yellow. One finger of bright white head that reduced to a thin layer.

S - Huge pine aroma up front with some grapefruit, peach and spice aroma present as well.

T - Big bitterness up front. Grapefruit, pine, lemon, orange zest and a touch of pineapple. The malt bill is barely present.

M - Light to medium body. full of sticky hop oils. Light carbonation.

On tap at O'Brien's. Pint glass.

A: Pours an orange tinted golden, excellent clarity, a finger or so of white head, very good retention but not much lacing.

S: Smack of toffee with delicate undertone of citrus hops.

T: Lots of sweet, luscious caramel, some bright citrus tries to peek through, piney kick, and mild scrubbing bitterness on the backend.

M: Full bodied, medium carbonation with some bite.

O: Excellent DIPA, but less hoppy and more caramelly than ideal. Maybe the hops are already on the downhill.

04.01.13 on 3/5/13, which is four days after it came into local stores. Pours a nice bright medium honey tone. Looks pretty clear, maybe a touch of haze. Medium white head. Fine bubbles. Some lacing. Aroma is full of bright hoppiness. It's a mix of floral, sweet citrus and tropical fruit notes. Some things that come to mind: sweet grapefruit, tangerine, honeysuckle, peach, pineapple, papaya, kiwi, lavender. Very nice. Little to no malt contribution. Maybe just a bit of simple sweetness. The taste is chock full of hop flavor, and the bitterness is tuned just right for my palate. There's no bland bitterness to this beer. It's always complex and delicate hop flavor. Absolutely wonderful taste. Mouthfeel is light. Gentle carbonation. Long-lasting hop finish. No booziness. This is an excellent DIPA. I tried the first version and was less impressed, but perhaps, I didn't have a big enough pour or something. This beer is tasty. If you like hops, I can't recommend it highly enough. Kudos to Stone.
