Notes / Commercial Description:
Listing for all Stone Enjoy By xx.xx.xx IPA beers.

You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Currently drinking 12.12.13.

Look great a transparent pale amber with a bright white fluffy head.

The smell is full on grapefruit with a little malt sweetness. This smells awesome.

The taste is bitter, sweet malts, fruity citrus hops. Very tasty.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. The hops really coat the tongue.

Overall another great beer from Stone, if you enjoy grapefruit flavours in your ipa I'd definately recommend. I'll be looking out for future 'enjoy by's'.

Ive had almost every release in bottles in CA

A: Pure golden, pale, clear
S: When totally fresh, a few days after bottling, its the best aroma there is. So much heady pine, tropical fruit, citrus, marijuana, grass, nectar
T: Again, within a few days after release the taste is close to the smell. Its a bit less complex then I'd like. Hits you almost all up front and then dissipates.
M: Pretty good here. Its not as full bodied as I'd like but its good enough to deliver the juice.

O: When very fresh its equal to any of the other big IIPA's. Aroma is the best of all of them IMO. Taste and mouthfeel maybe not as good as others but its close.

I'm reviewing 12-13-13: Stone is the brand here in SD. Having said that, I'm typically a Green Flash guy. So it was with a little trepidation that I believed the hype on this beer. From the minute you pop the cap the hop fragrance takes hold of you. Smelled of weed and citrus, with a dash of pine. The first sip socks your jaw with hop pungency and light caramel tones. Then you notice the nice head and great color this brew displays. The alcohol is up there, being a DIPA, but doesn't overpower or take your buds off of the taste. Just enough kick on the back end. Very drinkable, and the mouthfeel is full, but not cottony. Overall one of my top 3 brews HANDS DOWN. Can't wait for 2-14-14...Get you some!

A: Brilliant, clear golden color. Extremely "pretty" beer
A: Clear, golden orange. Thinnish white head with some lacing.

S: Boxwood w/sticky, lemony sweetness
S: Dank, sweet pineapple and papaya.

T: Hop-forward. Resinous lemon hits and then finishes dry while all flavors linger. Bit of spice hit or alcohol in the throat.
T: Surprisingly balanced overall. Lots of grapefruit, some honey tones.

M: Light for a 2xIPA. Again, stickyness lingers on the tongue and mouth.
M: Light-medium body, finishes pretty dry. Definitely leaves you wanting the next sip.

O: Good beer, very enjoyable. The freshness is evident. Winner.
O: Prefer this version to the 5/17/13 SEB. Refreshing even with the bitterness.
