You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Poured from 22 oz bottle into tulip glass. The 11/12/13 batch.

A: Pours a beautiful light golden color. Crystal clear with 1-2 finger off white head. Some lacing.

S: Massive fruity hops. Grapefruit, pineapple, oranges.

T: Slightly sweet with big fruity hops. Citrus flavors are prominent with a nice bitterness.

M: Nice body. Refreshing with a nice bitter finish.

O: Really nice IPA. Really excited that I got a chance to grab a bottle, and even more so that 12/13/13 is coming to Alabama.

This was the 11.12.13 vintage. Beautiful pour from a growler with a nice head. One of my favorite things when sipping this was the smell each time I put the glass near my mouth.
I have a weakness for Stone beer and consider them probably the best brewery out there. But this double IPA was as smooth tasting as if not more than the other Stone Beers I have enjoyed. Factor in that is 9.5 ABV but you do not taste the alchohol makes this a rare treat. If you have a chance to get this fresh beer, jump on it.
Please note that the 4.75 on overall instead of 5 is only due to the cost.
But hey you have to spoil yourself every now and then.

This Enjoy By 11/12/2013 deserves my first beer review.
A: poured into a IRS 17 oz. glass. Amber color with little foam. Nice lacing.
S: strong hops but also really fruity,
T: hoppy as expected, but the presence of tropical fruits balance out the bitterness. Finish smooth and tasty.
M: Smooth with the bitterness and sweetness lingering
O: Very good beer, a must-try IPA if you are wondering what IPA is. Once you had it, you will probably find others to compare. My favorite IPA beer so far.
