Notes / Commercial Description:
Listing for all Stone Enjoy By xx.xx.xx IPA beers.

You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Look: 12.25.15 - enjoyed on 12.7.15. Pours a beautiful, clear orange-amber copper with a huge, frothy white head and great lacing.

Aroma: Full of tropical fruit, dank piney hops, and citrus (guava and slight grapefruit). The sweet malt is apparent in the aroma as well, but comes out more in the taste.

Taste: Phenomenal and full of piney hops, tropical fruit, and citrus with the sweet malt rounding out the profile towards the end.

Feel: Medium carbonation, extremely smooth and drinkable. Excellent west coast IPA.

Enjoy by 25.12.15, had on 7.12.15 at Craft & Draft in Amsterdam.
A great Imperial IPA, heavy on the tropical fruit - mango, pineapple, passion fruit - mixed with a healthy amount of dank piny hops, on top of a sweet, malty body. This beer kind of reminded me of Pliney the Elder, but it was not nearly as balanced (the bitterness and alcohol were a bit rough around the edges) and the texture was not as smooth. Other than that, an excellent beer.

Great IPA tastes like floral honey, piney hops, citrus, and apricots. Very tasty, really impressed with this one. You can really tell it's fresh by the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Enjoy by 12/25/2015, 22oz into a tulip glass
Look; Crystal clear gold with two finger white head, plenty of lacing after a quick reduction.
Smell; Dank, piney with a slight cat pee scent that often precedes top notch IPA's.
Taste; Well balanced. A quick melding of pine, citrus and then malt. The flavors seem to blend as you drink.
Feel; Creamy, very pleasant to drink.
Overall; A top notch DIPA, deceptively smooth for a 9.4% beer.

Bomber bottle labeled 10-31-15, so I tasted it approximately one month past its "best".

L - Bright orange color wit maybe a hint of green. Off white head is thick, with an oily sheen. Significant lacing.

S - A citrus and pine extravaganza on the nose. Toasty malt on the final edge of the whiff.

T - Massive hit of bitter hops as orange and pine, accompanied by a late sweetness from the malt. In the finish the hops return as a strong, almost eucalyptus-like burn.

F - Medium body with creamy, mouth-filling carbonation. Huge hops bitterness blends into a significant alcohol burn.

O - Everything about this beer is huge and flavorful and right. It becomes more deep and complex with every sip.

Golden and clear. Eggshell head. Piney dank aroma grapefruit, some caramel. Taste is so dank piney and citrusy. Then caramel sweetness and a hint of alcohol followed by a lasting bitterness. Medium body and medium carb. Still my favorite west coast iipa.

12-25-15 Interesting beer to say the least! The 1st glass was fresh & crisp with no noticeable ABV and it almost resembled a "session" beer because of it's drinkability. SCARY because it is actually 9.4%! 2nd glass was with spicy food and it held up to it fantastically. This beer shines tremendously with the addition of food. The hops are clean and cut through perfectly with out being overbearing. This is a beer that seems OK until you get further into it then it shines. Excellent and a perfect spicy food paring!

22 oz. Bomber
Enjoy By: 07.04.16
Bottled On: 05/30/16

Pours a very nice slightly hazy golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger thick/creamy off-white head, which leaves some very nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with some very nice citrus/pine notes. The taste is very nice, hoppy, with a very nice citrus/pine notes, with some very nice sweetness. Medium body, with a nice dry/bitter finish, ABV is hidden very well. Overall, this is my second Enjoy By, and both have been very tasty.

A clear golden color, with a small head. Clusters of small rapidly rising bubbles makes it all come alive.

Smells strongly of citrus, tangerine sweetness, and generally sweet bread.

The incredibly sweet nature of the smell, is subdued in the taste by the bitter nature of the hops and malt. Mouthfeel is quite light, but not overtly so. As expected out of a beer which prides itself on its freshness, this is quite juicy. Although, this is definitely more dry than some of its competitors (Surly's Wet comes to mind).

drinking 12.25.15, pours a clear orange color, good foamy head that lasts a decent amount of time. smell is pine and resin through and through, nothing tropical here. smell follows the taste exactly: resin and pine, pine and resin, resiny pine, and piney resin, with a dry malt backbone. definition of a great bitter hop bomb "west coast" IPA. mouth feel is great, but I wouldnt expect any less from Stone. great beer when it's around, was my favorite Stone brew until I tried Thunderstruck.

Pours sap with a ring.

Fresh juicy apricot, pine and earthy tones.

Malty hops, bark and sweet syrup, a touch of spice.

Sharp carb, medium mouthfeel. ABV tastes lighter.

I'll be back. Intelligent concept.

Stone is quickly becoming a great go to fall back beer when I cant get trillium or tree house. Love how available it is and how solid it is. This was enjoyable.

Clear rich gold with two fingers of ten minute white head. Lacing is plentiful.
Smell is tropical fruits and biscuit malt.
Taste is tropical fruits mango grapefruit hop resin and very good amount of biscuit malts.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation and a slightly wet and bitter finish.
Overall a very nice DIPA that hides the 9.4% abv quite well so steady on.
I did not enjoy by 10-31-15 it five days past that. Great beer anyway. You can reform the head anytime with just a swirl of the liquid.

Pour: On draft at Smoke and Barrel in D.C. Poured into a tulip glass. Appearance: Deep amber. Clear. Good looking white head with lacing present. Aroma: Slight hop and juicy citrus...very subtle. Taste: Pepper up front. Anise-like licorice. Juicy hop and citrus on the back. Warming alcohol. Aftertaste: Huge anise kick lingers then recedes into a warming and juicy AIIPA. Overall: Very good - 4 out of 5.

Enjoy By 10-31-15

Appearance: Briliantly clear, golden color with one finger of bubbly head that fades slowly with nice lacing.

Aroma: Pine and grapefruit rind over sweet, buscuity malt

Taste: Big malt presense up front, a little chewey, with building earthy and pine bitterness. Theres a big hit of tropical fruit before the finish, which is quite lingering with pithy bitterness.

The Rest: At 9.4%, this is definately in IIPA territory with a body to back it up. Great aroma, but lacking a bit of balance.

Super clean. I think it is a smart move by Stone brewing to impose a rule that this beer be enjoyed as fresh as possible to taste what the brewmasters intended: a bright, explosive ipa that leaves you waiting for the next release.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
LOOK: Pours with a finger's worth of white foam that halves itself after 1 minute. Yellow in color. There is an abundance of both medium and large sized bubbles rising towards the top. Lacing is thick, but moderate.
SMELL: Has strong aromas of floral hops, mango, papaya, apricot, and pineapple that entangle with mild aromas of grapefruit, orange, piney hops, and bready malts along with hints of bitter hops.
TASTE: Strong floral hop, mango, papaya, apricot (no pineapple, though... I suppose not every IPA can be a Yellow Rose) flavors enter initially and are immediately followed by mild piney hop flavors. Mild grapefruit and orange flavors come onto the palate next along with subtle bready malt flavors. Subtle bitter hops and a hint of alcohol finish off this delicious symphony as all previous flavors persist, except piney hops, which grow slightly stronger.
FEEL: Somewhere between full-bodied and medium-bodied. Moderately carbonated. Goes down somewhat smooth and finishes with a horribly strong dryness (please get me some water).
NOTE: What an amazing Double IPA. It wasn't overly bitter and the 9.4% could barely be tasted. The major downfall in this brew was the mouthfeel. I will definitely be buying the next Enjoy By.

Very pale in appearance. Not much head. Sweet hoppy aroma. The taste is bitter up front but mellows into a sweetish lime aftertaste. Not my favorite Stone offering, but certainly an enjoyable beer. I'd order it again.

Enjoy by 10.31.15. Pours the typical, crystal clear west coast style. A light golden honey color with an off-white, eggshell color. The smell is super fruity and tropical, guava, peach, pineapple, onion and garlic sweetness, mango, marijuana dankness, pine, grapefruit rind, honey malts. Nice balance and a great aftertaste, not too bitter. Its like drinking the leftover juices from the fruit salad deluxe from a company christmas party. Lots of tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, guava, citrus, dank resinous qualities, bubblegum, candied orange, clean malt sweetness. Haven't had this beer for a while but it was a great reunion. Only picked up a single 12 oz. bottle but its enough to hold me over until the next batch comes around.

L-Pours a gorgeous golden-orange color with a two finger, bone white head with great retention and copious, sticky lacing. Beautiful appearance. Nearly perfect.

S-Floral and citrus hops are wonderfully fragrant. The aroma is almost intoxicating. I should have bought a six pack, even though over $18.

T-God, I love this beer. Very well balanced, yet complex. Hops are aggressive without overpowering the taste buds since it is balanced by a delicate malt sweetness that is absolutely delicious. A real treat. No bitter after taste and alcohol content is hardly noticeable for its 9.4% ABV. Extremely well constructed.

F-Very smooth and extremely well balanced. Carbonation is perfect.

O-Dangerously smooth given ABV. Tastes great cold and as it warms.

A great tasting IPA. A fresh citrusy taste with some piney notes. Clean, fresh feel and taste, very enjoyable with my pizza! It pours a nice clear deep yellow. Tastes great as I watch Dancing with the Stars with my wife.

I had this on tap at mellow mushroom. The look wasnt my favorite, translucent golden collor, just a bit light. Flavor and aroma were strong on the hops as you might expect, lots of pine flavor, pretty good. Mouthfeel was full but not too harsh, pretty good considering the strength of the beer actually. Good, but maybe a bit overrated here.

L - Very light Amber not much head
S - fruity piney fresh grassy
T - fruity unique taste, probably not used to fresh beer...
F - kinda gritty at the end (in a good way)
O - I think being fresh helps, a lot of the little tastes disappear quickly. Date was 10-31-15. Got better as it warmed. Can't stress enough to drink at the right temp.
