This one is a clear and copper colored brew. The head is white and leaves a nice lace. The smell is clean and balanced with both malt and hop qualities. Herbal and earthy in aroma...some underlying stone fruit.m the taste is more assertive....bitter ans strong. On the dry side, but lots of malt flavor. Hop resin and flavor is prominent throughout. Full body and satisfying.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Deep orange to amber colour, large off-white head. Strong and pleasant sweetish aroma of malts and oranges / orange marmalade, honey, fruity hops and hints of caramel. The flavour is medium sweet and malty, notes of caramel and oranges, and a firm hoppy bitterness in the finish. Some resin in the aftertaste. Very good.

Appearance: Clear medium amber, with an off-white head, moderate, but retains well. The lacing is scattered and patchy.

Aroma: Bready malt, with resinous pine and medicinal hop notes, and a bit of caramel.

Taste: Opens with moderate pine hops and a nice backbone of caramel malt. Grapefruit rind notes appear later. Bready notes are also present, tending towards biscuit. Finishes with a lingering note of pine and grapefruit bitterness.

Mouth feel: Soft and very full, with slightly sharp carbonation.

Drinkability/Notes: Found while reorganizing the refrigerator, kept cold from the time of purchase. Still quite good. Hopefully, this one will return to the Stone line.

Presentation: Packaged in an enameled twelve-ounce brown glass longneck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

From notes taken a while ago:

Pours copper to nearly ruby, but the darkness of it is greatly in thanks to the abundant haze. Rich tan, foamy to frothy head is large, lasting, with layers of lace. Toast, caramel, semi-tart malts, dates, a little rind on the nose. Palate is all of this as well, with other dark fruits, starting fairly sweet, finishing rindy, resinous, leafy, and leathery but also almost perfumy and soapy. All in good balance, and with mildly peppery afterbreath and a little ore toast and caramel on the aftertaste in addition to small amounts of bitterness. Medium-bodied, nearly full, with almost velvety suds, and a fair amount of tannins.

Had this on tap. Good beer but nothing incredible in my opinion. Maltiness and caramel with some hops. I'm confused that it says this is no longer brewed. Was that recent?

L - Copper hue, slighlty hazy. Two fingers of foam and lacing lasts.
S - Citrus, malt and caramel
T - Slightly citrus with a malt backbone. Smooth.
F - Best feature, silky mouthfeel
O - Great value for a pale ale, nicely done.

While I love the Stone portfolio, this one isn't my favorite. The color is beautiful dark orange with very little head. Both the smell and the taste are dominated by what I would call a Belgian swampy funkiness that isn't my favorite. Not terrible by any means, but probably not something I would order again.

Slightly darker gold than your average pale ale, this one comes in at 1/2" white head. Aroma is tame, least hoppy anything that says pale ale anywhere in the name for Stone.

Taste, funny, its mild, average hopping. More malt. What a throwback to the 90s. Still better than your average option at your average bar. Believe dat.
