Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
The IPA That Launched Generations of Hop Fanatics
First Release: August 1997

By definition, an India pale ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale aleā€”and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well-respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy, piney hop flavors and aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

hazy gold with some head on top.
nice hop aroma, interesting nose impression.
lemon-y, slightly pine-y hop dominant taste. the lemon is something different than what i am accustomed to.
overall, this is a great hppy kind of brew. i get the malt that's in it, i like the abv volume, and i can do the hop flavor. the grassy kind of lemon-y is refreshing and perfect in its own right. a little bit of scotch this evening kind of pronounces the flavors a bit more, too . . . . . .

This particular bottle is dated best by 8/26/13, so fresh! Poured into a tulip.
Appearance - Pours a gold, almost orange with a thick white head, a lot of carbonation and leaves a lot of lacing.
Smell - The aroma of this brew is superb! Grass, pine, grapefruit, other citrus hops.
Taste - matches the nose. A lot of dominating hop character!
Feel - a rush of hop bitterness, wreaks the palate like so many of Stones offerings!
Overall - So good! This is a classic representation of the West Coast IPA!
