It was a dark, oily black. Not much head. Just some large bubbles and spotty foam around the outside of the glass.
It smelled sweet/sugary with some subtle chocolate. Nothing offensive, but not really much going on here either.
It tastes a little better, still not much flavor depth on anything that is here though. The maple just barely shows up a little in the aftertaste, but is mainly just sweet with a residual sugar flavor. Bourbon also comes across as more sweet than anything else. Not any wood or grain. Some milk chocolate and cocoa.
Not sure on the age if this in all fairness. I didn't notice any distinct off flavors/infection. Maybe the carbonation seems a tad on the flat side, but it really didn't do much for me. My brother and I didn't finish it between us.
